Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. As Essential Personnel you are expected to be available in the event of school closings, delays, shutdowns, and any emergencies including clean up required because of severe weather incidents. Performs snow removal activities as assigned. Such as shoveling, salting, etc. Maintenance technicians are essential to the overall success of Liberty University and its day-to-day functions, especially during ongoing campus events such as Winter Fest, Orientation, Convocation, Commencement, and CFAW, summer camps, amongst other planned and unplanned events throughout the year. Must be available to work scheduled and unscheduled hours as emergency needs arise.
2. Reports to work at the required time, follows and performs duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Upper management.
3. Follows daily and weekly work assignments.
4. Responsible for entering data in a computerized inventory system. Such as, receiving, storing, and distributing supplies and materials, purging items, and maintaining accurate inventory balances. As well as, taking inventory of supplies and materials.
5. Performs tasks of an Inventory Control Technician I and related work in the operation and maintenance of a storage room.
6. Keeps Supervisor abreast of stock on hand and shortages.
7. Receives delivered items and notifies other departments of items received for their area.
8. Organizes inventory and periodically checking remain stock.
9. Labels items in storage facility and assists other techs in locating received items or items in storage.
10. Responsible for verifying the count of the incoming material with invoices and purchase orders. As well as, making sure that all inventory is accurate and properly placed.
11. Fulfill supply and material requests for Field Personnel.
12. Delivers supplies as needed.
13. Processes delivery tickets.
14. Maintains database and keeps records current.
15. Coordinates/schedules pickups and deliveries.
16. Assists customers and other team members.
17. Keeps storage facilities clean and removes all necessary waste and garbage in proper containers to maintain a safe and quality work environment.
18. Delivers materials to other areas within FMD.
19. Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or provide simple but continuous adjustment on equipment, machinery, and tools such as a computer, vehicle, and forklift, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
20. Requires the ability to utilize a variety of reference data information such as billings, letters purchase orders, operating instructions, schedules, and records.
21. Requires the ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
22. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
23. Ensures that proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and understand how and when to use it.
24. Must use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required while performing the job duties and responsibilities of an Inventory Control Tech I. This includes but is not limited to steel toe boots, harness, hard hat, gloves, eye protection gear, etc.
25. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
26. Performs other duties as assigned.
27. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
28. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
This position requires a high school degree or GED. 1+ years of related experience in record keeping that includes some inventory control using a computerized inventory control system or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Well-developed communications skills. Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and reputable driving record. State Driver’s license and insurable with company’s agent. Must be able to understand and follow instructions, and work under limited supervision. Must be able to work well with the public and co-workers and present a positive attitude. Exceptional self-management. Desire to work with a team to accomplish goals. Urgency to grow and improve. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and excellent computer skills are desired. Clean and professional appearance. Must be courteous, detailed oriented. Self-motivated, diligent, trustworthy, possess strong organizational and planning skills and well-developed communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds and perform duties of Inventory Control trade in typical Virginia climate. Certifications obtained while employed by Liberty University at the expense of the employer will be reimbursed back to the University upon voluntary termination (resignation) for the first 12 months after acquiring it. The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is an office, shop, and outdoor settings, and defined by the weather. While work involves some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemical, biohazardous materials, dirt dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises; the use of Personal protective equipment will be provided and required to be used. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.

Pay Range
Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
