Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Ansible

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer.

In this role, you will:

• Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
• Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
• Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
• Drive solutions to reduce recovery
• Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
• Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
• Design complex system upgrades
• Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
• Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
• Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong experience in Linux and Windows Server Administration, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, using BASH and PowerShell.
• Hands‑on expertise with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools, particularly Ansible, with an expectation to automate operational workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux and Windows system administration in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure and system architecture, including design, scalability, and reliability principles.
• Experience supporting Converged Infrastructure platforms and integrated server ecosystems.
• Proven ability to perform automation‑first operations, eliminating repetitive manual tasks.
• Experience working with vendors to resolve hardware, OS, and infrastructure issues.
• Ability to manage upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal service disruption.
• Strong documentation skills, including creation of runbooks, SOPs, and operational artifacts.
• Knowledge of enterprise security standards, access controls, and compliance expectations for server environments.

Job Expectations:

• Lead or participate in managing Linux and Windows server environments across production and non‑production platforms.
• Own day‑to‑day server administration and operations, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Drive automation from Day 1 by implementing Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Ansible, minimizing manual intervention and improving consistency.
• Contribute to increasing system efficiency, reliability, and scalability by reducing human effort in routine operational tasks.
• Review and analyze moderately complex operating systems, server platforms, automation frameworks, and management tools to ensure high availability.
• Apply strong understanding of system architecture and infrastructure design to support scalable, resilient solutions.
• Support and operate Converged Infrastructure platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and architecture.
• Collaborate with application, SRE, security, and network teams to resolve infrastructure‑related issues.
• Work with vendors and internal technical teams to drive incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and remediation.
• Lead technical deliverables while adhering to process controls, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, automation documentation, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and operational maturity.
