Job Description:
SHN has an exciting opportunity for an HRIS Specialist to support the day-to-day administration, security, and operational excellence of the organization's HR systems while contributing to the future optimization of HR technology.
The HRIS Specialist is responsible for the coordination, administration, maintenance, and monitoring of the Human Resources Information System (Workday). This role ensures the security, integrity, accuracy, and availability of HR data while managing system configuration, security access, business processes, integrations, and reporting. Working closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and operational stakeholders, the HRIS Specialist will support the reliable day-to-day operation of Workday and related systems, including workforce scheduling solutions.
Over the next six months, the primary focus of this role will be maintaining stable HRIS operations, managing security and access, supporting end users, resolving system issues, and ensuring data quality while documenting opportunities and contributing to the development of a longer-term HR systems optimization roadmap.
The HRIS Specialist is responsible for identifying operational improvements, supporting system enhancements, participating in testing activities, and maintaining system documentation. The role provides user training and ongoing support to increase organizational capability and ensure effective use of HR technology.
The HRIS Specialist also supports workforce reporting and analytics through the development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, and scorecards, providing meaningful insights that support operational decision-making and SHN's People Strategy.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Management, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, with hands-on experience administering Workday.
- Experience managing HRIS security, user access, role-based permissions, and system administration.
- Experience supporting HR operations including recruitment, core HR, benefits, absence management, and payroll processes.
- Experience working collaboratively with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to support system operations and issue resolution.
- Experience supporting Time & Attendance and workforce scheduling systems.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, scorecards, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience supporting system testing, release management, and production support activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis.
Assets:
- Experience supporting Workday functional areas including Recruitment, Core HCM, Benefits, Absence, and Payroll.
- Workday certifications in one or more functional areas.
- Experience with UKG Workforce Management, including Scheduling.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
