What this job involves:
Oversee the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of all lift/elevator systems at the client site
Manage fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control, hydrants, and emergency response equipment
Ensure full compliance with Hong Kong statutory requirements, including the Lifts and Escalators Ordinance (Cap. 618), Fire Safety (Buildings) Ordinance, and relevant EMSD and FSD regulations
Coordinate with external contractors, consultants, and government authorities (e.g., EMSD, Fire Services Department) for certifications, audits, and system upgrades
Conduct risk assessments, root cause analyses, and implement preventive maintenance programs
Respond promptly to emergencies or system failures affecting lift or fire safety operations
Maintain accurate technical documentation, as-built drawings, maintenance logs, and compliance records
Support capital improvement projects involving lift modernization or fire system enhancements
Interested? An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications
Desired experience and technical skills
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in managing lift/elevator systems and fire protection services in complex commercial, institutional, or high-rise buildings
In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong codes, standards, and approval processes related to lifts and fire safety
Holder of REW License or member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) is highly preferred
Proven track record in contractor management, project coordination, and stakeholder communication
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to operational excellence and public safety
