Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:Ensure all instrument transformers are tested and calibrated to meet industry standards. Lead lab safety initiatives and ensure adherence to established safety standards and practices. Maintain proper training programs for technicians and enforce safety procedures across shifts. Oversee testing of customer units to ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, and other relevant standards. Ensure all test results are accurate, properly documented, and traceable. Serve as the lead technical resource for lab technicians—providing training, guidance, and performance reviews. Interpret complex industry standards, operating manuals, and technical procedures, and communicate relevant information effectively. Supervise daily lab operations including scheduling, payroll, time-off requests, training plans, and team productivity. Monitor and drive performance metrics for quality and efficiency improvements. Act as a primary point of contact for customer interactions, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), inquiries, and lab tours. Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and R&D to support technical inquiries, custom testing requirements, and new product development. Support quality teams with test equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
Job Description
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related. Five (5) years of progressive experience in transformer design and manufacturing, electrical testing within a laboratory environment, or a combination thereof. Work experience to include: Five (5) years of experience with ISO9001 calibration programs and related compliance to approved protocols; Two (2) years of experience with interpreting and validating results from high-voltage, insulation resistance, ratio, and dissipation factor testing of instrument transformers; Two (2) years of experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or SAP QM modules to maintain, verify, and analyze trending test data; Improving lab performance through standardization of test processes and elimination of variation; and OMICRON, Megger, or Tettex test systems. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
