Learning Designer ( Hybrid Role)- Chennai

As a Learning Media Specialist, you will be part of the Learning Solutions team

and will produce a wide range of learning content, including screen-captured videos,

interactive walkthroughs, infographics, animations, audio, and video, to support global communities of learners and guide practitioners across ICON PLC.

 

You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts across business functions and with Learning and Development specialists in ICON University to produce relevant, purposeful, engaging, interactive, and accessible learning experiences.

Job Description

• Produces learning media and collaborates with other learning professionals to storyboard, script, produce, edit, review, and quality-assure content.

• Develops, publishes, maintains, and organizes libraries of reusable learning content shared across the team.

• Works within defined processes and methodologies and proposes improvements to ensure quality standards are achieved.Identifies and proposes opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement by drawing on personal experience, industry best practices, emerging technologies, and active knowledge sharing with peers.

• Uses generative AI and AI-assisted media tools, where appropriate, to support ideation, scripting, storyboarding, asset creation, editing, localization, and quality review, while maintaining meaningful human oversight.

• Evaluates AI-generated outputs for factual accuracy, bias, accessibility, copyright and intellectual property considerations, privacy, information security, brand alignment, and learning effectiveness, in accordance with applicable organizational policies and governance.

• Develops, tests, documents, and shares reusable prompts, templates, and AI-enabled workflows that improve quality, consistency, and production efficiency.

• Keeps current with developments in generative AI and responsible AI practices, and translates relevant capabilities into practical improvements for learning media production.

• Ensures efficiency in daily routines and supports the delivery of a high-quality service.

• May design and deliver structured training appropriate to the audience and identified need.

• Demonstrates enthusiasm for digital learning content through awareness of industry developments, emerging technologies, and key issues.

• Confidently provides constructive challenge, receives feedback professionally, and applies feedback to improve outcomes.

• Collaborative, approachable, and committed to supporting the growth and success of the wider team.

What are we looking for:

a)Experience in media design and production within a learning context.

b)Practical understanding of digital design concepts and principles, including Design Thinking, color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, accessibility, and inclusive design.

c)Expertise in a range of production tools, such as the Articulate 360 suite of apps, Evolve, Adapt Framework, Vyond, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Captivate, with the ability to learn and evaluate emerging AI-assisted tools.

d)Practical experience using generative AI tools for learning or media production, including effective prompt development, iterative refinement, output evaluation, and responsible use.

e)Ability to determine when AI is appropriate for a task, recognize its limitations, validate outputs, and clearly communicate where human expertise and review are required.

f)Strong visual communication skills and a well-developed storytelling sensibility.

g)Ability to storyboard and wireframe subject matter during the design stage.

h)Understanding of, and ability to apply, usability, user experience, accessibility, and responsive
