Late 2024, we expanded our capabilities by acquiring F.A.T.I., a renowned company in Italy specializing in process heaters. This acquisition allows us to enhance our range of electric heaters used in various industries around the world.

 

Overview

The Engineer is primarily responsible for the detailed design and engineering of industrial electric panel design and electrical solutions in relation to control and functioning of the Electrical Heat Exchangers. This includes the development of custom solutions for a variety of industrial applications, field support and ensuring compliance with international standards.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include

• Review of engineering orders for electric systems, assessing time requirements, technical complexity, and compliance with customer specifications and applicable standards and certifications.
• Design and development of heating elements, control panels, and complete heating systems using Thermon/FATI engineering tools.
• Coordination with engineering teams in other locations for project handovers and technical alignment.
• Day-to-day management of engineering projects within the Italian office, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
• Provide technical support for internal teams and clients, including troubleshooting and resolution of design-related issues.
• Conduct on-site support activities such as installation supervision, commissioning, training, and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to develop technical proposals, cost estimations, and revisions tailored to customer needs.
• Liaise with external sales representatives to support key accounts and strategic projects.
• Review and validate engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.

 

Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills

• Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
• Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, in the context of industrial heating applications.
• Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and standards.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation, E-Plan).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to present technical documentation clearly.
• Structured and methodical approach to planning and execution.
• Fluent in both Italian and English.
• Commercially aware and solution oriented.
• Self-motivated, independent, and collaborative team player.
• Reading and understanding electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Performing functional tests and troubleshooting on electrical control panels.
• Supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Performing commissioning and start-up activities at customer sites in Italy and abroad.
• Reading and understanding P&IDs and identifying the relevant instrumentation and control signals.
• Checking electrical wiring, I/O signals, alarms, interlocks and control functions.
• Preparing test and commissioning reports.

The ideal candidate has a technical background in electrical, electronic or automation systems, practical experience with industrial electrical panels and good troubleshooting capabilities.
