The Senior Project Manager, Construction, will play an integral role in achieving COD of our projects. The right candidate will be willing to roll their sleeves up to tackle multiple problems, collaborate with others, while leading projects through construction and commissioning phases to ensure that safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved.   

Location: Northeast, with a preference for our Boston or New York office.

Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of grid scale standalone energy storage projects in target markets. Collaborate with the Flatiron development and EPC teams as well as a multitude of subcontractors and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
• Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors. Foster collaboration and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Track project progress, prepare status reports, and present updates to stakeholders. Adjust plans as necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
• Track and manage project schedule, cash flow, deliveries, deliverables, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, payments, milestone certificates, and other key project elements.
• Keep detailed notes of meetings with key external stakeholders and share out notes to applicable internal parties.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, ensuring that our needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets industry standards and specifications.
• Travel to site to meet with contractors on a regular basis as well as for key milestones (equipment delivery, testing, etc.). 6-8 days/month expected once construction commences.
• Conduct project handoffs to the Operations team to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience related to the construction and design of energy infrastructure, ideally focused on battery energy storage and/or high voltage substations.
• Experience coordinating contractors on large infrastructure projects including experience integrating low/medium/high voltage systems, protection & SCADA, civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, and fire protection consultants.
• Experience developing, executing, and managing construction deliverables including schedules, budgets, QA/QC procedures, safety reports, and other reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NFPA, ANSI, UL, etc.)
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
• Preference for a candidate with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credential.
• Preference for a candidate with OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other project management software and tools.
• Superior verbal and written communication with a high-level of attention to detail, along with strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and creativity.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work scopes, and deadlines in a fast pace and dynamic environment
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
