The Field Application Specialist is a customer-facing role that works with scientists to understand their application requirements and help adapt workflows to the capabilities of liquid handlers and Beckman's automation platforms.

Our innovative instruments are used worldwide in multiple subject areas including genomics, drug discovery, cancer research, and synthetic biology. Our Field Applications Specialists work closely with sales and support staff to provide high-level customer support before, during, and after a sale.

This position reports to the Sales Director Latam and is part of the Commercial organization. It is located in Brazil and will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide application support across scientific areas, including drug discovery and genomics, to address customer technical needs.
• Partner with the sales team as a technical expert for pre-sales presentations, seminars, posters, and customer engagements.
• Assess customer workflows, define project scope, and recommend solutions that improve scientific and operational outcomes.
• Plan and deliver product demonstrations, customer training, and ongoing support while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Develop, adapt, and optimize liquid handling methods and protocols in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.

The essential requirements of the job include

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology or a related field with experience preferentially in genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or similar
• Knowledge of liquid handling, automation, and robotic laboratory equipment.
• Strong experience with scientific applications such as next-generation sequencing, synthetic biology, single-cell workflows, high-throughput screening, cell-based assays, and biochemical assays.
• Proven ability to teach, train, and clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, and customer-facing skills.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Willing to travel regularly (approximately 60%)
• Possess valid driver’s license and meet Beckman Coulter safe driver criteria
• Possess valid passport

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in the Life Sciences market
