Description
AND Studio is a performance marketing agency built around influencer and creator UGC ads. Campaigns run on relationships with large numbers of creators, and increasingly, on proving with real numbers which of those creators actually move a campaign.
The problem: that data comes from two platforms, Nectar and Creator IQ, and on its own it's unreliable.
Numbers pulled straight from them and put in front of clients weren't landing. So the outgoing technical lead built a first version of the fix, a service that ingests both sources into one store, keeps everything traceable to its origin, and ranks creators by fit with transparent, adjustable weighting.
It's live as a proof of concept on one account, running across two campaigns.
This role takes that proof of concept and makes it real, then builds the next piece: connecting the ranking system to the tool AND Studio uses to reach out to creators.
Hands-on, individual-contributor, working directly in the codebase.
The Role
What you’ll own:
Data pipeline ownership
- Maintain and extend the ingestion pipeline pulling creator data from Nectar and Creator IQ
- Keep data sources fully separated and traceable: what came from where, how, and when
Ranking and scoring engine
- Maintain and extend the TypeScript-based engine that ranks creators by fit to a campaign
- Keep scoring weights transparent and adjustable rather than opaque
Outreach integration
- Build and maintain the connection between the ranking system and AND Studio's outreach platform, referred to here as "Sever" (working name, pending confirmation)
- Close the current data gap on creator geography, which currently blocks accurate targeting
Data integrity and reproducibility
- Treat this as the core of the role: every number shown to a client needs to be genuinely defensible, not just plausible-looking
- Build in the habits and checks that make that true by default, not as an afterthought
Handoff and documentation
- Work directly alongside the outgoing technical lead during the transition period
- Document the system as it's built out, so ownership doesn't sit with only one person again
The Person
Who we’re looking for:
- Working proficiency in TypeScript, comfortable operating inside a real production codebase
- Solid SQL and general data pipeline fundamentals: can reason about how data is structured, ingested, and traced from source through to output
- Practical, hands-on use of AI coding tools, paired with a genuine understanding of what's being built rather than leaning on generated code without knowing why it works
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where scope shifts as the business learns what it needs
- A demonstrated instinct for data accuracy over surface-level output: someone who checks whether a number is actually right before it goes in front of a client
- Ability to think clearly matters more than years of experience. The baseline technical capabilities above matter more than tenure on their own (see Candidate Tracks for how this plays out across the two levels being presented)
