Location: Par, Cornwall
Salary: £24,784.50 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible working hours within operational requirements)
Contract: Full-time, 12-Month Fixed Term Contract with potential to become permanent for the right candidate

About Our Opportunity
We're looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our UK Hub Quality team at Par Moor Centre.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You'll provide testing support across a range of routine approved test methods, ensuring samples are processed correctly and results are accurately entered and reported through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Working closely with the Laboratory Supervisor and wider laboratory team, you'll help maintain the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental compliance while developing your technical laboratory skills and experience.
This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate, making it an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within Imerys.
What You'll Be Doing
Laboratory Testing & Reporting
Carrying out routine laboratory tests and procedures under supervision.
Supporting testing activities in accordance with approved laboratory methods.
Accurately entering samples and reporting results using LIMS.
Ensuring all laboratory data is recorded accurately and within agreed timescales.
Following approved test methods and standard laboratory procedures.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Working in accordance with ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001
Environmental standards. Following all company Health & Safety procedures and initiatives.
Recognising and reporting any issues that could impact testing, results or data accuracy.]
Working safely in accordance with risk assessments, COSHH requirements and Take 5 procedures.
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
Teamwork & Communication
Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Supporting laboratory operations to meet business requirements and deadlines
Contributing positively as an active member of the laboratory team.
