Senior Construction Project Manager – JLL
Leading Industry-Changing Projects
As a Life Sciences Senior Project Manager at JLL, you will be directly responsible for the delivery of complex laboratory, manufacturing, and building infrastructure projects in highly regulated environments. This role positions you at the forefront of innovation in life sciences real estate, where you'll combine technical expertise with strategic leadership to execute projects that directly impact the future of scientific research and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Working within JLL's Project and Development Services team, you'll leverage our national platform and collaborative culture to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients while advancing your career with a global Fortune 500 leader in commercial real estate services.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the project management leader for a major account in Deerfield, IL, including responsibility for creation of the annual capital plan execution strategy, monthly forecasts, cash flow analysis, and creation and safe execution of the individual project plans
· Provide supervisory leadership involving people management, decision-making, root cause analysis, inspections and audit readiness, communications, management of planning/scheduling and driving overall improvement of productivity
· Own KPI’s and metrics; manage performance and governance processes for daily management of project operations
· Build trusted relationships across the client organization by leading with responsiveness and creative problem-solving
· Manage adherence to financial plans, fee allocation and budgets. Ensure allocation of proper resources to preserve account profitability. Basic understanding of Gross Margin, Accounts Receivables, Profit & Loss, and Time and Expense
· Oversee and prepare accurate project documentation for all phases of construction including project charter, due diligence reports, budgets, schedules, meeting minutes, financial funding requests, status reports, punch lists, and special reports—on time and in accordance with pre-established formats
· Apply top-tier project management skills during client interactions to decipher client needs and develop project goals and scope of work
· Focus on Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety in the planning and design of projects, compliance with client standards and regulatory requirements, and safe execution of work
· Maintain knowledge of interconnection points with other JLL Service Lines (e.g., Integrated Facilities Management, Engineering Services, Occupancy Planning, Move-Add-Change Projects) and expertise in leveraging these services into additional client opportunities
· Manage vendors (e.g., GC, A&E, Security, Safety) to ensure full compliance with all project policies and procedures, and close out every project within 120 days of completion
· Understand OSHA 1926 requirements and review OSHA safety logs for contractors
· Participate in and provide sign-off on project reviews, and validate that contracts are being actively and appropriately managed
· Maintain documents and correspondence in accordance with approved JLL protocols, and keep project data current to support account-wide data health metrics
· Send client satisfaction surveys in a timely manner and serve as the point of contact for escalation, helping the project team identify and resolve risk areas
· Champion the technology and tools your team needs to do their best work, and advocate for new solutions that improve quality and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Education:
· A bachelor’s degree is required (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred)
- Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management certification preferred
- 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA Construction certification a plus
Experience:
· 7-10+ years of relevant experience in project or construction management required, preferably in Life Sciences or other highly regulated settings
· 2-3 years as a Senior Project Manager or similar role preferred
· Life Science, Healthcare, or Commercial Building construction project management experience is preferred
· Familiarity with base building electrical, HVAC, and mechanical infrastructure required
· Experience with project scope development, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and contract negotiations required
· Experience working in and managing a team preferred
· Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects at various phases and in various buildings, from project identification through design, planning, client approval, permit issuance, construction, and financial closeout
· Experience developing risk management plans and leading teams through established work authorization processes to ensure no impacts or incidents within critical environments or equipment
Certifications (Preferred):
· LEED, AIA, PE, PMP, and/or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
Work Requirements and Conditions
· Position may work primarily at client site or project location with potential daily client and contractor interaction
· Face to face and/or remote daily interpersonal interaction is usually required
· Available to support critical operations, emergencies, special events as well as work activities after hours

Estimated compensation for this position:
120,000.00 – 150,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
