Description
As a Senior Engineer in Global Workplace Services, you will be a technical authority for collaboration, meeting-room, enterprise mobility and low-code platform capabilities used across ING. You will design, operate and continuously improve Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Enterprise Mobility Management for Android and iOS using Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Power Platform capabilities including Power Apps, Power Automate and Managed Environments. In this role, you combine deep hands-on engineering with platform governance, operational resilience, security, compliance and stakeholder collaboration.

The purpose of Global Workplace Services is to provide ING colleagues with a Digital Workplace to collaborate frictionless in a hybrid world. Global Workplace Services enables all colleagues worldwide to do their jobs as effectively as possible, using modern digital tools that are secure, up to date and user friendly.
The Workplace department maximizes the delivery of value for employees by leveraging the Microsoft Cloud Platform in the areas of collaboration, productivity, communication, automation and employee experience services. Workplace owns and manages Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Teams Rooms, Microsoft Intune, Power Platform and related platform capabilities, including the governance, automation, operational controls and risk management practices needed to operate these services safely at enterprise scale.
M365 Collaboration, Mobility & Power Platform Chapter: This chapter provides secure, reliable and scalable workplace collaboration and productivity capabilities. It manages Microsoft Teams and Teams Rooms services, enterprise mobility capabilities for Android and iOS using Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Power Platform services including Power Apps, Power Automate and environment management. The chapter ensures these services are well-governed, automated where possible, compliant with ING standards and continuously improved based on user needs, operational data and technology developments.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer in Global Workplace Services, you will act as a subject-matter expert and hands-on platform engineer across Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Enterprise Mobility Management and Microsoft Power Platform. You will be responsible for designing, operating and continuously improving secure, reliable and scalable workplace services that support collaboration, productivity, automation and hybrid working across ING.
Microsoft Teams Platform Engineering
Design, configure and operate Microsoft Teams platform capabilities, including collaboration policies, meeting policies, messaging experiences, meeting security, app governance and lifecycle processes.
Translate business, security and compliance requirements into scalable Teams configurations, operating standards and engineering guardrails.
Monitor service health, adoption, incidents and platform changes, and drive improvements that enhance reliability, usability and supportability.
Provide technical leadership for complex incidents, escalations, major changes and investigations related to Teams collaboration services.
Microsoft Teams Rooms & Meeting Experience
Design, configure and support Microsoft Teams Rooms, shared meeting devices, Teams panels and related meeting-room capabilities in an enterprise environment.
Ensure meeting-room devices are securely enrolled, managed, monitored and maintained, including configuration standards, update processes, firmware lifecycle and operational documentation.
Collaborate with workplace, network, facilities, AV, security, vendor and support teams to improve the end-to-end meeting experience.
Troubleshoot complex Teams Rooms and meeting-room issues and contribute to standards that improve reliability, monitoring and incident response.
Enterprise Mobility Management
Design, operate and continuously improve Enterprise Mobility Management capabilities for Android and iOS using Microsoft Intune in both Mobile Device Management (MDM) as well as Mobile Application Management (MAM) configurations.
Configure and maintain device enrolment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, app protection policies, app configuration policies, mobile application deployment and Conditional Access dependencies.
Manage enterprise mobility integrations such as Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise and certificate-based access patterns where applicable.
Ensure mobile-device and mobile-application management solutions are secure, scalable, auditable and aligned with ING security, privacy and regulatory expectations.
Power Platform Engineering
Design, operate and improve Microsoft Power Platform capabilities, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Managed Environments, connector governance and environment lifecycle management.
Implement governance patterns, data-loss-prevention controls, environment strategy, access models and operational controls that enable business innovation while managing technology and compliance risk.
Support makers, product teams and risk stakeholders with clear technical guidance, reusable patterns and controlled adoption of Power Platform services.
Contribute to automation, reporting and monitoring that improves visibility into platform usage, compliance posture, service health and operational risks.
AI Engineering
Implement and manage enterprise-grade AI and multi-agent systems (Copilot, GenAI agents, orchestration frameworks)
Design of agentic workflows (multi-agent reasoning, routing, integrations)
Define and implement AI platform architecture, RAG pipelines, and integrations with enterprise systems
Ensure AI systems are scalable, secure, observable, and compliant
Drive technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and engineering standards
Ensure AI systems are scalable, secure, observable, and compliant
Defines enterprise controls for secure AI adoption including oversharing prevention, data classification, DSPM, DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management and AI governance.
Ensure AI reliability, monitoring, and continuous improvement loops
Manage AI safety, governance, observability, and risk mitigation frameworks
Guarantee compliance with security, data protection, and regulatory standards
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Apply strong engineering practices, including automation, scripting, configuration control, documentation, monitoring, service reporting and structured problem management.
Use PowerShell, Azure DevOps pipelines and other automation capabilities to standardize deployments, reduce manual effort and improve operational quality.
Identify, document and mitigate risks across collaboration, meeting-room, mobility and Power Platform services, ensuring controls remain effective and actions are tracked to completion.
Contribute to audit, cyber resilience, business continuity, sourcing, privacy and compliance activities related to Microsoft 365 workplace platform services.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work effectively with Product Owners, Chapter Leads, IT Area Leads, engineers, support teams, security, risk, compliance, facilities, vendors and business stakeholders.
Translate user needs, operational insights and regulatory expectations into practical engineering improvements and roadmap input.
Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, including during incidents, changes, escalations, service reviews and governance discussions.
Share knowledge, coach colleagues and strengthen operational maturity across engineering and support teams.

We’re looking for a candidate with a proven track record and skills in:
Required Technical Experience
Extensive experience designing, operating or improving enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 workplace services in a global environment.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Teams administration, governance, service operations and enterprise collaboration patterns.
Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms, meeting-room devices, shared-device management, monitoring, troubleshooting and operational documentation.
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Intune for Android and iOS, including enrolment, compliance, application management, app protection, Conditional Access dependencies and lifecycle management.
Practical experience with Microsoft Power Platform administration, including Power Apps, Power Automate, environments, connectors, governance and support models.
Experience operating services in a regulated enterprise environment where security, privacy, resilience, auditability and employee experience must be balanced.
Engineering Excellence
Strong understanding of platform engineering principles, secure-by-design practices, service reliability and operational resilience.
Proven ability to improve service quality through automation, monitoring, documentation, configuration control and structured problem solving.
Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear guidance, standards and operational procedures for engineers, support teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to use data, telemetry, risk insights and user feedback to prioritize improvements and guide platform decisions.
