About Action Industries
At Action Industries, we keep doors moving. As a premier manufacturer and distributor of garage door weather seals, hardware, operators, and access control solutions, we serve professional door dealers, commercial contractors, and facility managers across North America. With seven nationwide distribution centers, proprietary USA-made manufacturing, and top-tier brand partnerships, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer support, rapid A-TECH delivery, and tailored industry solutions.
Position Overview
We are seeking an ambitious, high-energy Inside Sales Representative with the drive and aptitude to step into a Northeast Regional Sales Representative position.
In this role, you will start on the frontline of our sales operations—learning our comprehensive product catalog (weather seals, perimeter protection, LiftMaster operators, hardware, and loading dock seals), mastering our customer ecosystem (overhead door dealers, distributors, and OEMs), and driving revenue through outbound prospecting, incoming trade inquiries, and account management. As you establish your track record and market knowledge, you will build and transition into managing our high-value Northeast Territory, taking ownership of field sales, on-site client visits, and strategic account growth.
Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Inside Sales & Territory Development
- Account Management & Prospecting: Proactively manage and expand an assigned account base of door dealers, install contractors, and commercial facility suppliers throughout the Northeast corridor.
- Consultative Selling: Help B2B clients select the correct parts and systems—ranging from customized brush seal kits and thresholds to commercial operator repair components.
- Outbound Growth: Execute targeted calling campaigns and follow up on digital leads, catalog requests, trade show contacts, and web inquiries to convert prospective dealers into active buyers.
- Quote & Order Management: Generate accurate, competitive quotes (leveraging Action’s direct-from-manufacturer bulk pricing) and assist clients with online ordering via the Action portal.
- Cross-Selling & Supplier Consolidation: Educate clients on Action’s wide product breadths to help them consolidate vendors, increase average order value, and optimize shipping through our nationwide warehouse network.
- Product & Market Mastery: Train extensively on Action’s USA-manufactured weather seals, rodent protection (RodentBLOCK), access controls, and major distributed brands (LiftMaster, Genie, Miller Edge, EMX).
Phase 2: Transition to Northeast Regional Sales Representative
- Territory Ownership: Take full strategic ownership of the Northeast territory revenue goals, client retention, and market share growth.
- Field Visits & Relationship Building: Conduct on-site meetings, product demos, counter days, and dealer training sessions with key door dealers and industrial contractors across the Northeast.
- Strategic Partnering: Partner with major regional accounts to secure preferred supplier status, negotiate long-term supply agreements, and represent Action Industries at regional industry trade shows (e.g., IDA events).
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of high-volume commercial accounts and regional distributors using CRM tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2–4 years of successful B2B inside sales, account management, or technical customer service experience. Industry experience in building products, industrial distribution, door/hardware manufacturing, or wholesale commercial sales is a strong plus.
- Career Ambition: Strong desire to progress into a field-based outside sales role with willingness to travel across the Northeast region (approx. 25–40% travel post-transition).
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to learn a technical, SKU-intensive product line (measurements, retainers, mechanical parts, and electrical access controls) and translate technical specs into commercial value for dealers.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and phone communication skills; ability to build rapport quickly with field technicians, business owners, and purchasing managers alike.
- Tools & Systems: Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot), ERP platforms, MS Office Suite, and e-commerce web portals.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on industrial sales experience.
What We Offer
- Competitive Compensation: Base salary + lucrative monthly/quarterly commission structure designed to reward growth.
- Clear Career Path: Structured, performance-based milestones transitioning you from Inside Sales to Regional Account Management.
- Benefits Package: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, 401(k) with company match, paid time off (PTO), and paid holidays.
- Training & Mentorship: Direct coaching from industry veterans, hands-on product training, and supportive leadership focused on your long-term advancement.
