Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer. This role is based in Orchard Park, NY.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

## What you’ll do:
Job Summary
Responsible for Senior Quality Engineer responsibilities along with the ability to provide quality function expertise for Production and Development programs. Establish stakeholder relationships that foster a positive partnership, facilitate resolution of customer issues, and provide technical support during the life cycle of assigned products. Offer support and knowledge of quality philosophies and disciplines to internal and external customers in the coordination of quality improvement efforts.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional corrective action and/or continuous improvement teams in significant quality activities or programs.
- Deploy significant quality expertise to provide tangible benefit to the organization (product cost, quality, metrics etc.)
- Oversee and participate in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goods and evaluate inspection techniques and recommend changes.
- Review and analyze inspection test results and oversees the disposition of unaccepted items with affected suppliers and companies.
- Create Inspection Plans by part number considering Key Characteristics.
- Review, evaluate, and assign Quality Requirements to Purchase Orders from the organization to the Supply Chain.
- Work with Production, Quality Assurance, Materials, and other departments to define quality standards and procedures.
- To use the latest quality, problem solving techniques and best working practices.
- Lead, liaise with and coordinate other quality team members to ensure that all relevant Quality metrics are recorded utilized and appropriate to their purpose.
- Ensure proper handling of non-conformities and customer complaints, assuring that the root causes are clearly defined and that corrective actions are put in place and accomplished, and that necessary documentation is properly prepared and distributed.
- Lead Quality issue investigation and resolution using problem solving techniques.
- Identify, develop, and implement systems that will assure product conformance to specifications.
- Be an agent of change and work within the organization to execute changes and improvements to the quality management system.
- Support and lead Failure Mode avoidance activities (PFMEA/ DFMEA etc.). Execute or facilitate all aspects of APQP and Part Approval and sign-off for both suppliers and customers, manage revisions of process control documents such as PFMEAs, Control Plans and other quality tools to ensure compliance.
- Reviews supplier PPAP submissions including control plans and assists with control plan creation where necessary. Ensures all appropriate Special Characteristics are included, that reaction plans are adequate and customer approval is obtained where necessary.
- Works with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure that quality criteria are clearly identified on all newly established parts and communicated to suppliers.
- Works in partnership with engineering to support all development projects and milestones related to Quality and improve the overall process to achieve zero defect quality and launch readiness.
- Provide mentor and training support for new Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering Technicians.

## Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 5 year of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 1 (one) year experience of quality engineering quality tools.
- Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience reading blueprints and understanding GD&T principles.
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with 8D (RCCA) or equivalent problem-solving method.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001.
- Working knowledge of NADCAP special process QMS.
