Join Micron as a Senior Data Scientist and help shape the future of semiconductor development, manufacturing, and business operations through advanced analytics, machine learning, translating complex data into actionable insights, and AI-driven innovation. In this role, you will leverage expertise in data science, statistics, semiconductor manufacturing, and modern AI technologies to develop intelligent solutions that improve product engineering, manufacturing efficiency, yield, quality, and business outcomes. Beyond developing advanced analytical solutions, you will partner with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, product, and business organizations to identify strategic opportunities, influence priorities, and transform data-driven insights into tangible business impact. By bridging technical expertise with business objectives, you will drive adoption of AI-powered solutions, enable data-informed decision-making, and help deliver scalable innovations that accelerate Micron's operational excellence and competitive advantage.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement cutting-edge algorithms and agentic AI systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflow, engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Drive business value and organizational transformation by solving high-impact business challenges with data-driven insights.
- Work with massive datasets (terabytes to petabytes) to uncover insights and enable automation.
- Apply statistical modeling, feature engineering, and supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised learning techniques.
- Extract and cleanse data from diverse sources using SQL and other query languages.
- Identify outliers, handle missing data, and ensure data integrity for robust modeling.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Management or related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- Machine learning and advanced analytics
- Python and/or PySpark
- SQL databases (Snowflake/Google Cloud Platform preferred)
- Familiarity with JavaScript, Streamlit, AngularJS 2.0
- Bonus Skills:
- Exposure to semiconductor industry (preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), Run-to-Run (R2R), Design of Experiments (DOE), Large Language Model (LLM)
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Experience developing AI agents and workflow automation solutions is a plus.
- Excellent presentation, storytelling and communication skills, and ability to work across teams.
