About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Corporate Finance, to join the Tailored Brands Financial Planning & Analysis team. The Director, Corporate Finance, will play a key leadership role in driving the financial strategy, planning, and performance of a growing retail apparel organization. This position will support the company’s corporate financial planning and analysis (FP&A), forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and long-range planning processes while partnering closely with senior leadership across Accounting, Investor Relations, Tax, Real Estate, Supply Chain, and Operations.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and commercially minded finance leader who can translate complex financial data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations. This person will help the organization make informed decisions around growth, profitability, inventory, stores, cash flow, and capital allocation.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
Financial Planning, Forecasting & Modeling
- Support the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Own and maintain the company’s integrated three-statement financial model, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, ensuring consistency across forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
- Develop and maintain key financial model assumptions and operating drivers, ensuring the model accurately reflects revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory, working capital, capital expenditures, debt, and cash flow.
- Use the three-statement model to develop scenario analyses, sensitivity analyses, and financial projections that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Analyze sales, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow performance.
- Lead the development of monthly and quarterly business and financial narratives, leveraging AI to synthesize performance trends, key drivers, risks, opportunities, and variance analysis into actionable insights and executive-ready reporting for the CFO and executive leadership team.
- Identify key business trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Establish and monitor financial KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Continuously improving the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and modeling processes.
Corporate Finance & Strategy
- Support the VP & SVP in developing and executing the company’s financial strategy.
- Drive Board of Directors communications, developing executive-level presentations and written correspondence that synthesize complex business priorities, performance insights, and strategic initiatives
- Develop scenario analyses to assess the financial impact of strategic and operational decisions.
- Monitor industry, consumer, and macroeconomic trends and assess their potential financial implications.
- Support lender, investor, board, and other external financial reporting as needed.
- Lead financial analysis for strategic initiatives, business cases, acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate development opportunities.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve cash flow and working capital management.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and identify opportunities to optimize liquidity.
- Ensure working capital and cash flow assumptions are appropriately incorporated into the integrated three-statement model.
- Support financial planning around seasonal inventory purchases and major business cycles.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior executives and functional leaders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing corporate finance team.
- Establish strong financial discipline while maintaining a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.
- Improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, systems, and analytical tools.
- Communicate financial results, financial outlook, and recommendations clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field;
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience within retail, apparel, consumer products, e-commerce, or another consumer-facing business strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning.
- Advanced experience building, owning, and maintaining integrated three-statement financial models.
- Strong understanding of retail financial metrics, including sales, gross margin, markdowns, inventory, store contribution, e-commerce economics, and working capital.
- Experience partnering with C-suite executives and cross-functional business leaders.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience with ERP, financial planning, and business intelligence systems.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.

- Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, onsite, 3 days per week, at our New York corporate office

The starting salary for this position is $170,000 – $195,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. Over time, and subject to performance, tenure, and evolving responsibilities, total compensation for this role may grow to as much as $293,904. Other compensation may include a 20% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
