FUND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Arc Herkimer

Starting salary $75,000 | Full-Time 37.5 hours/ week with flexibility| Exempt

Are you a fundraising professional who knows how to build relationships, inspire support, and turn a great mission into meaningful community impact?
Arc Herkimer is looking for a Fund Development Director to lead our fundraising and development efforts and help create a stronger future for the people and families we support.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and implement Arc Herkimer's annual fundraising and development plan.
  • Build and grow relationships with individual donors, major donors, businesses, foundations, and community partners.
  • Lead efforts in major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and develop a strong, diverse donor pipeline.
  • Coordinate fundraising events, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Research and coordinate grant opportunities, submissions, reporting, and compliance.
  • Partner with the Board of Directors and volunteers to strengthen fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with PR staff to create engaging donor communications, appeals, newsletters, annual reports, and impact stories.
  • Track fundraising budgets, revenue, expenses, donor records, and performance.
  • Represent Arc Herkimer throughout the community and build partnerships that increase awareness and support.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of fund development, fundraising, or nonprofit development experience required.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Budget and financial management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn donor management and fundraising software.
