Description
Firefly Fiber Broadband is seeking a Sales Engineer, a customer-facing technical sales role that partners with the Sales team to assess customer needs, design telecommunications solutions, and support sales including DWDM, Dark Fiber, DIA, XGS-PON, and VoIP services. This position serves as a technical expert throughout the sales cycle, helping prospects and customers evaluate options, resolve technical concerns, and select solutions that meet their business and network requirements.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in a customer-facing technical sales role (Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Systems Engineer) in telecom, ISP, or carrier markets
- Proficient and confident presenting directly to customers at all levels - from network engineers to C-level executives
- Strong working knowledge of:
- DWDM transport and wavelength services
- Dark Fiber architecture and route design
- DIA delivery, BGP routing, and SLA structures
- XGS-PON/GPON access and FTTP/FTTH models
- VoIP solutions, SIP trunking, and QoS
- FTTC deployments
- MEF related service delivery options
- Proven ability to support and help close complex technical sales opportunities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be willing and comfortable traveling to customer sites and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, or optical/telecom-specific credentials
- Experience with Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Nokia, Calix, or ADTRAN platforms
- Experience selling into enterprise, carrier, or wholesale accounts
- Familiarity with VITA and E-Rate is beneficial
- Experience with BroadSoft voice services and configurations
