Assistant Professor of Clinical - Diagnostic Radiology, Pediatrics

CORE JOB SUMMARY   

The Division of Pediatric Radiology in the in the Department of Radiology at the Leonard Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami (UM), is seeking fellowship-trained, CAQ certified or eligible candidates for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor on the Clinical Educator track, given planned expansions of services across the region.

The successful applicant will join a faculty of more than 70 clinical radiologists who are involved in imaging at multiple facilities, including Jackson Memorial Hospital (a primary, tertiary, and quaternary care County hospital) and from the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics. UHealth delivers leading-edge patient care by the region’s best doctors, powered by the groundbreaking research of the University of Miami Leonard M. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS  

• Interpret general radiology, neuro, abdominal, MSK and chest Imaging (CTs, MRIs, Ultrasound, X-rays, fluoroscopy). 

• Take evening and weekend calls at UHealth and JHS locations as required.  

• Supervise performance of technical personnel. 

• Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of diagnostic radiology.  

• Provide diagnostic imaging consultations as requested.  

• Provide pediatric patient care related to imaging as required in the setting of a radiology practice.  

• Assume administrative responsibilities related to the practice of diagnostic imaging.  

• Participation in the advancement and education of diagnostic radiology medical students, residents, and fellows.   

• Serve on Departmental and University committees as requested by the Chair.  

• Accept assignments as determined by the department Chair.

Thus, the incumbent will be expected to participate in didactic teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and attend and actively participate in seminars and other educational lectures. Teaching also includes participating in the supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows who are involved in direct patient care. As a faculty member, we also anticipate that you will actively participate – attending meetings, Grand Rounds, and other University scholarly activities.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS  

Education: 

• Medical Degree  

• Diagnostic Radiology Residency  

• Pediatric Radiology Fellowship  

Certification and Licensing: 

• American Board of Radiology Certified or Board Eligible  

• Florida Medical License or Eligible  

• CAQ in Pediatric Radiology or CAQ Eligible 

Experience:   

• Competitive applicants will have completed at least 1 year of dedicated subspecialty fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology.  

• Prior experience in a university faculty setting preferred but not required.  

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: 

• Interpret general radiology, neuro, abdominal, MSK and chest Imaging (CTs, MRIs, Ultrasound, X-rays, fluoroscopy). 

• In addition to the rich clinical experience, faculty will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
