The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for assisting the analyst team in data analysis and statistical reporting to the business.The incumbent will further be responsible to deliver business intelligence across a wide range of areas.
Actuarial Analysis
- Understand the impact of hospital pricing and tariffs with the specific aim of developing Alternative Reimbursement Methods (ARM).
- Develop and produce reports to monitor the effectiveness of these ARM.
- Understand the key risks faced by the business due to hospital event costs and develop reports to track and manage the risks.
- Report on profitability analysis by medical scheme and ARM type contract.
- Report on revenue mix and understanding causes of variance.
- Analyse hospital events and report on usage of consumables and drivers of cost by hospital and other variables.
- Provide advice and input on product development, partnerships, funder negotiations and hospital event cost analysis.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis in terms of management requirements.
Essential Requirements
- A Tertiary Commercial Qualification at NQF level 7.
- BSC Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 3 years relevant Healthcare experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify trends in a logical, systemic way.
- High level of attention to detail, resilience, enthusiasm, and drive.
Knowledge
- High level of attention to detail, resilience, enthusiasm, and drive.
- Advance knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, statistical analysis programs.
