Job Summary:The Furniture Driver is responsible for loading, handling, transporting and unloading all furniture, fixtures and equipment used throughout the Park. This position requires a minimum age of 21, a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Some require DOT physicals, and all need a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

 

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: December 2026 - March 2027Pay: $18.25-$21.50/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Furniture Mover I:

  • Responsible for loading, handling, securing, transporting, and unloading all furniture, fixtures and equipment used throughout Yellowstone National Park.
  • Responsible for loading and transporting discarded items to the landfill, recycling and donation centers outside of Yellowstone National Park.
  • Responsible for the loading, transporting, unloading, set-up, and breakdown of banquet equipment Park-wide for groups, events, conferences, and special functions.
  • Responsible for leadership of the training & mentoring of Driver - Furniture Movers 2 & 3.
  • Ability to communicate furniture needs with a variety of departments, locations, and personnel in the field with a professional attitude. 
  • Serve as a liaison between location personnel and support services manager about interdepartmental needs.
  • Communicates unsafe working conditions, maintenance and equipment issues with Support Services Manager as necessary.
  • Assists Support Services Furniture Refinisher with furniture out on location by taking care of items in need of minimal repair.
  • Assist with in-house projects such as caning historic chairs. Assist the furniture lead with minor furniture repair projects in the field and in the shop by learning & adhering to the safe operation procedures of drills, sanders, saws, and miscellaneous small tools.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of company assigned vehicles and the maintaining of appearance, cleanliness, and fluid levels of vehicles.

Furniture Mover II:

  • Responsible for loading, handling, securing, transporting, and unloading all furniture, fixtures and equipment used throughout Yellowstone National Park.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of Company assigned vehicles and the maintaining of appearance, cleanliness and fluid levels of vehicles.
  • Responsible for loading and transporting discarded items to the landfill or recycle centers outside Yellowstone National Park.
  • Responsible for the loading, transporting, unloading and setting up of banquet equipment Park-wide for groups and special functions.
  • Assists Support Services Furniture Refinisher with furniture on location by taking care of items in need of minimal repair.
  • Assist with in-house projects such as caning and repairing historic chairs.
  • Responsible for completing all assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
  • As a part of the Support Services Departments and based on staffing as well as outside available help, the Furniture Movers may be asked to assist the Print Shop, Furniture Refinishing, Mail Courier or other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be capable of loading, handling, transporting and unloading all furniture, fixtures and equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and possess a current DOT physical card.
  • A knowledge of Park and concession-operated locations including buildings and dorms is beneficial.
  • Ability to set up banquet equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must be capable of driving 24,000 GVW vehicle on narrow mountain roads.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to be on your feet for at least 8-10 hours each day, including bending, pushing and pulling and have the physical stamina and conditioning to withstand heavy labor, i.e. 8-10 hours of moving heavy furniture and mattresses.
  • Able to climb and descend stairs with loads.
  • Able to work and drive in changing weather conditions on mountainous roads.
