Summary:
The Business Analyst 2 provides advanced support for assigned business process and/or system within a business unit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, monitor, and enhance operational, analytical, regulatory, and executive reporting supporting Collections, Recovery, Bankruptcy, Repossession, Loss Mitigation, Default Operations, Credit Administration, Credit Risk, and Portfolio Risk Services.
- Utilize SQL, database query tools, and reporting platforms to extract, analyze, validate, reconcile, and interpret data from multiple systems and data sources while developing dashboards, scorecards, Tableau visualizations, automated reporting solutions, and ad hoc analyses.
- Partner with business stakeholders, management, technology teams, and vendors to gather requirements, translate business needs into reporting and analytical solutions, provide technical support, and serve as a liaison between business and technology functions.
- Analyze business processes, systems, reporting outputs, and operational workflows to identify technical and procedural improvements, recommend solutions, implement enhancements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
- Research complex business, data, reporting, and system issues; perform root cause analysis; independently drive resolution; and support testing, validation, reconciliations, system implementations, conversions, and post-implementation activities.
- Prepare executive-level PowerPoint presentations, performance dashboards, trend analyses, portfolio reviews, management reporting packages, and decision-support materials for leadership, governance committees, audits, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain business requirements, reporting specifications, Technical Design Requirements (TDRs), operating procedures, user guides, training materials, report inventories, data dictionaries, and process documentation.
- Build strong operational knowledge across collections, recovery, charge-off, bankruptcy, repossession, loss mitigation, default servicing, and credit administration functions to ensure reporting solutions accurately support business and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, enhanced controls, improved data quality, reporting efficiency, and operational effectiveness through collaboration with business partners and technology teams.
- Lead or support projects, training initiatives, reporting migrations, system conversions, and continuous improvement efforts while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely results.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reporting, business analysis, data analytics, systems support, or a related discipline.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a High School Diploma and 9 years of related experience and/or education may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience supporting business processes, reporting, analytics, systems, or operational functions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that support operational and business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
- Experience with SQL, database querying, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience developing dashboards, executive reporting, KPIs, scorecards, and presentations.
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into reporting and analytical solutions.
- Knowledge of Collections, Recovery, Bankruptcy, Repossession, Loss Mitigation, Default Operations, Credit Administration, or similar financial services functions.
- Experience supporting system implementations, reporting conversions, testing, and data validation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to business and leadership teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
- Strong collaboration skills with business partners, technology teams, project teams, and operational stakeholders.
