The Opportunity

YourCode Recruitment Group is partnering with an established, growing professional services and consulting organisation to recruit an experienced Director of Digital Project Management.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an accomplished Project Management Director, Consulting Delivery Director or Digital Transformation Leader who combines exceptional people management skills with a strong understanding of mature project management methodologies, consulting delivery and client engagement.

The successful candidate will take ownership of an established project management function, leading and developing a team of experienced project management professionals while strengthening delivery standards, governance frameworks and consulting capabilities.

Importantly, this is not simply a role focused on overseeing technical implementations. Our client is evolving its consulting services to provide broader business transformation, process improvement and project management advisory services.

You will play a key role in shaping this offering, working closely with senior consulting leadership to develop scalable delivery capabilities, support pre-sales activities and create opportunities for continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of project management professionals, creating a high-performance consulting delivery culture.

• Establish and continuously improve project management methodologies, frameworks, governance and delivery standards.

• Build a more mature, consistent and scalable project management function.

• Provide coaching, performance management and professional development opportunities across the team.

• Support future team growth, resource planning and capability development.

Digital Transformation & Consulting Delivery

• Provide senior oversight of complex digital transformation and technology consulting engagements.

• Ensure successful end-to-end project delivery across scope, budget, timelines, resources, quality and client outcomes.

• Lead governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and executive reporting across multiple client programmes.

• Apply Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies appropriately across engagements.

• Oversee consulting delivery across areas including Data & AI, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data Platforms, Software Implementation and emerging technology initiatives.

• Ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes, not simply successful technology implementations.

Client Engagement & Consulting Growth

• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, business leaders and technical delivery teams.

• Support pre-sales engagements, solution scoping, consulting proposals and service offering development.

• Help develop and expand project management consulting as a standalone client service.

• Identify opportunities to improve client operations, processes and ways of working.

• Collaborate with consulting, technology and change management teams to deliver integrated business transformation programmes.

• Maintain commercial accountability across project budgets, forecasting, delivery margins and resource utilisation.

Experience & Qualifications

We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in management consulting, technology consulting, digital transformation or professional services.

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant project management, programme delivery or consulting experience; ideally 10+ years.

• Proven experience leading and developing project managers or consulting delivery teams.

• Strong understanding of mature project management frameworks, governance, methodologies and best practices.

• Demonstrable experience managing complex, client-facing technology or digital transformation programmes.

• Experience working within a consulting or professional services environment.

• Strong commercial awareness, including project budgets, resource management, forecasting and financial performance.

• Excellent senior stakeholder management, communication and client relationship skills.

• Experience with project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project or similar platforms.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.

Highly Desirable:

• Background within a major consulting organisation, Big Four firm, management consultancy or established technology consulting business.

• Experience developing consulting service offerings, supporting pre-sales or contributing to business development.

• Exposure to Data & AI, Enterprise Data Warehousing, Power BI, Software Delivery or Cybersecurity projects.

• Experience delivering consulting engagements within Healthcare, Financial Services, Education, Government or Non-Profit sectors.

• PMP, PMI, Agile or Scrum certifications.

• Experience establishing or transforming project management functions, delivery governance or PMO capabilities.
