UMMARY
The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day Human Resources operations for OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark and serves as a trusted HR resource for Curators and leaders across the property. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position provides comprehensive support in employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, HR compliance, performance management, training, benefits, workers’ compensation, engagement, and HR administration.
The Senior HR Generalist partners closely with resort leadership to promote consistent application of company policies and practices while supporting Pyramid Global Hospitality’s “People First” culture. This role requires sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, strong follow-through, and the ability to effectively manage multiple HR priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a primary HR resource for Curators, supervisors, managers, and department leaders regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and workplace concerns.
- Support the Director of Human Resources with daily HR operations and departmental priorities.
- Provide guidance to leaders regarding employee relations, performance management, attendance, workplace conduct, and progressive discipline.
- Conduct and assist with workplace investigations, including interviews, documentation, fact-finding, and preparation of investigation summaries.
- Maintain objective, factual, confidential, and timely documentation of employee-relations matters.
- Support consistent administration of company policies and employment practices across resort departments.
- Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including candidate screening, interviews, hiring activities, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.
- Coordinate and conduct New Hire Orientation and other HR training programs.
- Monitor onboarding requirements and ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain I-9 compliance and support applicable employment eligibility and immigration requirements.
- Support Workday transactions and maintain accurate employee records, employment changes, and HR documentation.
- Partner with leaders regarding staffing needs, workforce planning, retention, and departmental HR concerns.
- Support performance appraisal, engagement survey, recognition, and incentive programs.
- Coordinate and participate in Curator engagement activities that support morale, retention, and Pyramid Global Hospitality’s People First culture.
- Assist with benefits administration and provide Curators with appropriate resources regarding benefit programs.
- Support workers’ compensation administration, workplace injury documentation, and required follow-up.
- Promote workplace safety and assist with compliance with applicable OSHA and company safety requirements.
- Support compensation administration and ensure approved employment and compensation changes are appropriately documented and processed.
- Monitor HR records and reporting for accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Assist with training initiatives focused on compliance, leadership expectations, workplace conduct, and Curator development.
- Maintain awareness of applicable federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources on complex or sensitive employee-relations matters and escalate matters requiring additional review.
- Provide guidance and support to HR team members as assigned.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel matters, investigations, compensation, medical information, and other sensitive business information.
- Perform other Human Resources duties and projects as assigned.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS & COMPLIANCE
The Senior HR Generalist is expected to support fair, consistent, and professional Human Resources practices throughout the resort. Responsibilities include:
- Receiving and documenting workplace concerns.
- Conducting appropriate fact-finding and employee interviews.
- Supporting workplace investigations.
- Reviewing attendance and performance documentation.
- Assisting leaders with coaching and corrective-action documentation.
- Supporting progressive discipline processes.
- Identifying matters requiring escalation to the Director of Human Resources.
- Maintaining confidentiality throughout HR processes.
- Supporting compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity, anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, retaliation prevention, wage-and-hour, leave, accommodation, and other applicable employment requirements.
- Ensuring HR recommendations and documentation are based on legitimate, job-related business considerations and consistently applied standards.
RECRUITMENT & ONBOARDING
- Support recruitment activities from candidate selection through successful onboarding.
- Partner with hiring leaders regarding vacancies and staffing needs.
- Review candidate and new-hire requirements for completeness.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements and onboarding activities.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation.
- Maintain accurate onboarding and employment records.
- Support I-9 compliance and required employment authorization documentation.
- Assist new Curators with navigating Workday and applicable HR processes.
- Support international employment and visa programs as assigned.
CURATOR ENGAGEMENT & TRAINING
- Support resort-wide engagement initiatives and Curator recognition programs.
- Assist with Associate/Curator Engagement Survey initiatives, communications, participation efforts, and follow-up activities.
- Partner with department leaders on feedback sessions and engagement action planning.
- Facilitate HR and compliance training as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate training records.
- Promote internal career opportunities and professional development.
- Help create an inclusive, respectful, service-focused workplace environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist, employee-relations, or HR management capacity.
- Hospitality, resort, entertainment, waterpark, or other high-volume service-industry experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee-relations matters and workplace investigations.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, HR compliance, and employee engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to independently prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Workday or comparable HRIS experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting international visa programs preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS
This position primarily operates in a professional office and resort environment and requires regular use of computers, phones, printers, and other standard office equipment. The position may require prolonged sitting, frequent standing and walking throughout the resort, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or carrying of materials weighing approximately 10 pounds.
The Senior HR Generalist must be able to effectively communicate in person, electronically, and by telephone with individuals at varying organizational levels.

The Senior HR Generalist will work primarily on-site at OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark and may regularly travel throughout hotel, administrative, food and beverage, waterpark, and other operational areas of the property. The position must comply with all applicable safety standards and procedures.
