Executive Operations Lead
Department: Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: London, UK
Compensation: £100,000 - £120,000 / year
Description
Departments own their goals, plans and delivery. This role owns the mechanisms that bring those together, create visibility and ensure decisions and information flow effectively across the organisation. Its purpose is to create the structure, visibility and follow-through that help leaders operate effectively across organisational boundaries.
What You'll Be Working On
- Administer the SLT agenda and cadence to ensure the right topics get the right visibility and time allocation
- Own company goals and tracking; consolidate department dashboards into a single SLT-level view, surfacing areas of performance deterioration
- Facilitate cross-functional initiatives, where coordination is needed, across multiple owners, ensuring dependencies, decisions and actions remain visible and on track.
- Own the "pen on the deck" for Board presentations: drafting, chasing contributions, action tracking, in collaboration with the CFO and SLT
- Build follow-up mechanisms so decisions from SLT/Board stay on track and progress well
- Improve governance and decision-making without adding unnecessary process
- Support internal comms cadence (town halls, key announcements) to keep clarity and focus flowing through the organisation
- Partner with functional leaders on business planning, prioritisation and operating challenges
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity across the business, including effective use of AI, automation and better ways of working.
What You'll Bring To The Team
- A strong individual contributor with excellent influencing and organisational skills — this is an IC role, not a people-manager role, but influencing and leadership skills are key.
- Comfortable with a fluid, evolving scope shaped by org needs and their own strengths. Comfortable operating in an evolving remit and identifying where their involvement will have the greatest impact.
- Gets things done: Moves work forward, follows up and does not let important actions disappear.
- Creates clarity: Can take a vague or complicated issue and turn it into a clear decision, plan or message.
- Strong judgement: Knows which details matter, when to step in and when to leave an owner to deliver.
- Comfort with numbers: Can understand financial and operating information, test assumptions and identify gaps.
- Executive communication: Can structure complex information into concise, well-judged messages, papers and presentations for the CEO, leadership team and Board.
- Programme leadership: Can run several connected workstreams without creating unnecessary processes.
- Constructive challenge: Can question senior leaders directly while keeping strong working relationships.
- Influence without authority: Can get work done through people who do not report to them.
- Discretion: Can be trusted with sensitive company, people and Board information.
- Range: Can move between strategy, operating detail, communication and problem-solving in the same day.
-
Outcome Driven: Focuses on the results rather than visibility or credit.
- Experience running complex work across several teams.
- Experience working directly with senior executives.
- A record of turning broad goals into practical plans and delivering results.
- Experience setting up clear project governance, reporting and decision-making.
- Experience preparing senior-level written material, including concise papers and presentations.
- Strong understanding of how the main parts of a business work together, including Finance, Legal, Revenue, Product, Engineering, Client Services and People.
- Experience working in a growing or changing company where roles, processes and priorities are still developing.
- Experience in consulting, business operations, strategy, transformation, programme leadership or an operating role.
- Experience in a technology, software or technology-enabled business with roughly 200–500 employees.
- Experience of a merger, integration, restructuring or major change programme.
- Experience working with a Board, investors or private equity owners.
