Position Overview
ACE Money Transfer Limited Ireland is looking to hire a Manager, Compliance to support Group MLRO Head of Compliance in ensuring the organisation’s compliance with anti money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and other financial crime prevention laws and regulations.
The role involves identifying key regulatory risks related to financial crime across the company’s operations, reviewing relevant policies and procedures, and supporting the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the preparation and submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). The Manager will also oversee investigations into financial crime related compliance issues and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address identified risks.
Monitor and assess developments in applicable Irish, EU, and Central Bank of Ireland laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and supervisory expectations relating to financial crime, AML/CFT, financial sanctions, and other relevant compliance matters.
Manager Compliance will report directly to the MLRO/ Head of Group Compliance and work closely with other departments to ensure that the business operates in full compliance with all applicable financial crime laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of ACE’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and other financial crime-related policies and regulatory requirements across Ireland and other international offices, where applicable.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of management information used across the company to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate financial crime risks across all products and jurisdictions.
- Assess financial crime risks associated with products, services, customers, and business activities, and assist in developing effective strategies and controls to manage those risks.
- Communicate and disseminate financial crime compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to relevant departments and business functions.
- Stay abreast of emerging financial crime trends, typologies, techniques, regulatory developments, and industry best practices, and proactively recommend appropriate measures to address emerging risks.
- Prepare and present regular reports to the Head of Compliance and MLRO on financial crime risks, incidents, investigations, regulatory developments, and mitigation measures.
- Assist the MLRO in preparing and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the relevant Irish authorities and other applicable Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), where required.
- Ensure that financial crime compliance requirements and risk considerations are appropriately addressed in new partnerships, agreements, products, and business relationships.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable financial crime laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and contractual requirements to support continuous compliance.
- Monitor the development of regulatory policies, supervisory expectations, and enforcement strategies relating to Money Services Business (MSB) operations in Ireland and other jurisdictions in which ACE operates, and advise the Head of Compliance on emerging financial crime risks.
- Ensure that appropriate systems, software, and technology are in place to support effective oversight, transaction monitoring, screening, reporting, and management of financial crime risks.
- Lead and oversee internal investigations into financial crime-related compliance issues, ensuring that investigations are conducted effectively and that identified issues are resolved promptly and appropriately.
- Assist internal and external auditors with financial crime-related reviews and audits, ensuring that they are provided with the necessary information, documentation, and access.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, Product, Technology, and other relevant departments to identify and remediate financial crime compliance gaps.
- Support the development, review, and enhancement of financial crime risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, and monitoring frameworks.
- Track identified compliance issues and remediation actions, ensuring that agreed corrective measures are implemented within the required timelines.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, financial crime, and regulatory compliance.
Good understanding of Irish and EU financial services regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of Central Bank of Ireland regulatory expectations and AML/CFT requirements.
Strong risk assessment and risk management skills.
Experience in transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer due diligence (CDD/KYC).
Strong investigation and analytical skills, with the ability to identify financial crime risks and suspicious activity.
Experience supporting the MLRO and preparing or reviewing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
Strong understanding of financial crime policies, procedures, controls, and risk assessments.
Ability to monitor and interpret regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
Strong report writing, management information (MI), and presentation skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail, judgement, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage compliance investigations, regulatory reviews, audits, and remediation activities.
Strong project and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with compliance monitoring or financial crime systems would be an advantage.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree (minimum graduation) with 5+ years of relevant management-level experience in compliance, AML/CFT, financial crime, risk management, or a related field.
