The Risk & Reporting (R&R) team delivers best-in-class, technology-enabled performance analytics and investor reporting for Oaktree's closed-end, open-end and evergreen strategies - including Private Credit, Opportunistic Credit, Asset-Backed Finance, Special Situations, Real Estate and other R&R-supported strategies. The team works at the intersection of investments, finance / accounting, client reporting, and technology, partnering with deal teams, Investor Relations / Client Services, Finance / Accounting, Valuation, Data Management, IT, and Legal / Compliance to ensure performance, exposure, allocation, and client-reporting data is accurate, validated, and ready for investor and portfolio-management use.
As a Senior Associate, you will manage a coverage area within the R&R reporting platform, review and approve key deliverables, set operating standards, manage senior-stakeholder expectations, and use hands-on people management to build a high-performing Hyderabad team.
What You'll Do
Performance & Reporting
• Manage quality standards for strategy- and investment-level track records - TWR, MWR, IRR (gross and net), MOIC, TVPI, DPI, and RVPI - across Oaktree's closed-end, open-end and evergreen strategies;
• Review and approve investment-level performance outputs across deployments, valuation changes, realizations, exits, distributions, exposure movements, and return drivers, ensuring metrics tie to approved source reports, position-level extracts, and investment-performance summaries;
• Oversee reporting workflows across R&R-supported strategies, including strategy and portfolio summaries, investment performance summaries, exposure and attribution reports, client-specific templates, meeting packs, and ad hoc requests;
• Oversee bespoke client template validation, including exposure-by-GICS reports, BIS / Basel and ILPA-style templates, instrument classifications, issuer and underlying-asset details, fair-value exceptions, trade / maturity fields, and bank-loan, CLO, and derivative economics;
• Set review standards for benchmark and PME analyses where relevant, using vintage-year peer benchmarks and indices such as Cliffwater, MSCI/Burgiss, Cambridge Associates, and Preqin;
• Manage quarterly fair-value and valuation reporting controls so marks and exposure data flow accurately into performance outputs; and
• Guide review of portfolio analytics such as loss, default, recovery, watchlist, leverage, yield, sector, geography, and currency exposure metrics across private-credit and opportunistic-credit portfolios.
Investor Reporting
• Manage delivery standards for investor-reporting data packs, RFP / DDQ inputs, capital-account and transaction schedules, and standardized LP reporting using ILPA templates such as Reporting, Capital Call & Distribution, and Performance templates;
• Review and approve investment-level data controls across Finance / Accounting, Valuation, Data Management, and internal reporting systems, ensuring values tie to approved source reports, investment-performance summaries, position files, and client-template requirements;
• Manage controlled LP, consultant, and internal investor-reporting request trackers, including ownership, service levels, escalation paths, audit trails, and recurring monthly / quarterly task visibility; and
• Oversee LP performance summaries, portfolio and financial data packages, investment-level cash-flow templates, and investor-specific reporting packs, including side-letter, parallel-fund, eFront, and exclusion-list requirements.
Technology & Automation
• Manage automation priorities across SQL, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and paginated-report workflows, focusing on scale, control, and production resilience;
• Set standards for use of Oaktree's in-house systems and reporting datasets, including repeatable sourcing, break investigation, and data-quality controls;
• Review semantic-model-ready reporting assets in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including DAX measures, Power Query / M transformations, Fabric dataflows, deployment-pipeline support, and secure data-access controls; and
• Coach the team on product discipline - documentation, testing, version control, release management, and clear handoffs - while using approved GenAI tooling responsibly.
Partnership & Leadership
• Manage relationships with Portfolio Management and deal teams, Business Development, Product Specialists, Investor Relations / Client Services, Finance / Accounting, Valuation, Data Management, IT, and Legal / Compliance for assigned R&R workstreams;
• Set priorities for strategy and portfolio reporting enhancements in response to new strategies, investor requests, control needs, and ILPA-aligned reporting expectations;
• Manage team capacity, review quality, deadlines, escalations, onboarding, feedback, and development for analysts, associates, and senior associates, with a focus on building a high-performing team.
Required
• 10+ years at an asset management firm, investment bank, fund administrator, or other financial services company, with deep exposure to alternative investments, investment reporting, or portfolio analytics;
• Deep knowledge of return and performance concepts, including TWR, MWR, IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, exposure, attribution, benchmark, and investor-reporting outputs across closed-end, open-end or evergreen strategies;
• Strong technical foundation in SQL, Python, Power BI, and modern reporting platforms, with experience setting standards for recurring production workflows;
• Demonstrated people-management experience building high-performing teams, quality review discipline, cross-functional project leadership, and senior-stakeholder management, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
• Hands-on Python for data analysis and automation, and prompt engineering using approved GenAI tools;
• Familiarity with cloud data architectures and tooling such as Azure or Microsoft Fabric, semantic models, deployment pipelines, and secure data-access patterns;
