We're Hiring for a Sales Representative (Demineralization Sales) for our Heavy Industry segment!
Job Summary:
Xylem’s WSS Heavy Industry is hiring a Field Sales Representative who will support commercial growth within the Water Solutions and Services Heavy Industry segment by developing foundational sales skills, building customer relationships, and learning how to position technical solutions that address customer needs in industrial water and process applications. This Field Sales Representative is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to grow the company’s customer base and increase revenue. This role identifies and pursues new sales opportunities, builds and maintains relationships with existing clients, and presents products and services to potential customers. The position also involves conducting market research, preparing sales reports, and meeting sales targets. Field Sales Representatives must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage their sales territory effectively.
The Field Sales Rep will help develop and execute sales strategies designed to expand the customer base and grow revenue within assigned accounts or territories. This includes identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, supporting account development activities, and maintaining strong relationships with both prospective and existing customers.
The individual in this role will present Xylem products and services to customers, support solution development in coordination with technical and commercial teams, and help move opportunities through the sales pipeline. Responsibilities also include conducting market research to better understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive activity, as well as preparing sales reports, updating CRM records, and supporting forecasting and territory planning.
This role is intended for an early career professional who is building capability in consultative selling, territory management, and industrial customer engagement. Success in the role requires strong communication skills, sound business judgment, effective organization, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal partners.
Responsibilities:
Sales:
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers
• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities
• Meet and exceed sales targets
• Negotiate and close sales deals
Customer Relationship Management:
• Provide excellent customer service and support
• Address and resolve any customer concerns or issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decisionmakers
• Conduct regular follow-ups and check-ins with customers
Market Research and Analysis:
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitors' offerings
• Gather and analyze market data to identify potential leads
• Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities

• Communicate product features and benefits to potential and existing customers
• Train and educate customers on product use and best practices
• Stay informed on any updates or changes to products
Territory Management:
• Develop and implement a strategic territory plan
• Manage and prioritize sales activities within assigned territory
• Monitor and track sales performance and provide reports to management
• Collaborate with other sales team members to maximize territory coverage and sales opportunities.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in degree in business, engineering, science, or a related field.
•0-5 years sales experience; Knowledge of process water or wastewater treatment or any other related field preferred.
• Strong proficiency in CRM and business management software, such as Salesforce and Dynamics.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• A track record of identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities
Salary:
The estimated total target compensation for this position is $100,000 to $120,000, which includes base salary plus sales incentives. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
