Job Summary:

The Park-wide Food and Beverage Technician works out of the Mammoth Hot Springs (MHS) location and assists maintenance teams at all Xanterra locations throughout Yellowstone National Park with electrical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the Food and Beverage equipment maintenance program to include the assembly, repair, and maintenance of select kitchen and beverage serving equipment, including post-mix beverage systems, direct draw beer systems, coffee, tea, juice, cocoa, milk, microwave ovens, slicers, choppers, mixers, scales, toasters, and other equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is in proper operating condition, including cleaning, preventive maintenance, inspection, and quality control testing.
• Develop and maintain opening and closing procedures for all post-mix beverage systems and assist with training all F&B staff on proper operations and cleaning of equipment.
• Maintain an appropriate inventory of parts and supplies for all F&B equipment and appliances that are accountable to the position following Company guidelines and procedures.
• Assist in the development, periodic review and continuous improvement of PM’s and procedures.
• Document food and beverage equipment assets, maintenance requirements, and the labor/ material used to complete maintenance and repairs, as well as, coordinating with location maintenance storekeepers and the Maintenance Purchasing Agent to ensure appropriate inventory levels of parts and supplies are established, maintained, and accurately captured in the company’s CMMS.
• Support location Food and Beverage staff with ongoing training on operation of equipment.
• Ensure that all equipment and systems meet NSF sanitation standards, National Plumbing Code, National Electric Code, and all work and equipment meet OSHA safety standards.
• Advise and coordinate with Engineering and F&B Director the long-range needs for equipment phase-out, replacement and disposition.
• Assists with all conceptual designs and development of related activities and performs an in-house review of professional designs, and then assists with installations and/or performs inspections of installations regarding Food and Beverage systems.
• Assist with opening/closing of park wide Xanterra facilities to ensure proper procedures are followed and provide on-call assistance as needed.
• Represents the Facility Management division as a liaison with other departments, outside service contractors, consultants and the National Park Service.
• Establish and maintain a weekly service tour of all facilities where overnight stays will be required
• Foster a merit-driven approach by leveraging relevant qualifications and expertise to drive projects and achieve goals.

Qualifications

Required:

• Possess working knowledge of the National Electric Code, National Plumbing Code, NSF Sanitation Code, and OSHA.
• Knowledge of materials and equipment common to the electrical and plumbing trade and the use of test equipment.
• Practical experience in electric control circuits, and repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Strong organizational skills, including detailed service records and log sheets on all work performed.
• Intermediate Computer Skills; Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Facilitate group training on safety, operation of equipment, and quality control.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a good driving record for the past 3 years. Must be able to obtain a CDL license and have a medical certificate.
•  Possess interpersonal skills required to communicate and cooperate with staff and management from the Xanterra organization, the National Park Service, contractors, and consultants.
• High School GED equivalent with preference toward trade education.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred:

• Experience in a hospitality or resort environment.
• Knowledge of company structure and policies helpful.
• Experience with Maximo, Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Physical Requirements include:

• Must be able to walk and/or stand for at least 30 minutes at a time.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
