## Eaton Ireland
At Eaton, we are dedicated to improving quality of life and protecting the environment through intelligent power management technologies. This role offers the opportunity to influence major projects across Ireland’s commercial buildings, industrial facilities, critical infrastructure and energy transition market, while developing a rewarding technical and commercial career with a global leader in power management.
The Business Development Manager – Power Distribution will be responsible for developing new and existing business opportunities across Eaton’s product baskets in Ireland, including low voltage power distribution, medium voltage, power quality and life safety products.
The role will focus on identifying opportunities, building strong customer and influencer relationships, creating demand, supporting specification activity and positioning Eaton as a preferred partner for safe, reliable and sustainable electrical infrastructure solutions.
The successful candidate will combine commercial drive with a strong understanding of low voltage power distribution equipment, while also developing opportunities across Eaton’s wider medium voltage, power quality and life safety portfolios.
The role should remain broad enough to attract strong candidates from contractors, panel builders, consultants, distributors, manufacturers or related electrical industry backgrounds.
## What you’ll do:
## 1\. Specification and Design Influence
Build and maintain relationships with electrical consulting engineers, building services consultants, design practices, technical end users, main contractors and specialist contractors. Influence the specification of Eaton solutions across the full portfolio, including low voltage power distribution, medium voltage, power quality, life safety, energy management, power monitoring, surge protection and EV infrastructure. Ensure Eaton solutions are specified by name or through performance‑based specifications.
## 2\. Early Project Engagement
Identify and develop early‑stage project opportunities across Ireland. Build relationships that provide visibility of future projects and customer requirements. Create, maintain and convert opportunities within Salesforce. Develop territory plans and target‑account activity to support sustainable pipeline growth.
## 3\. Technical Expertise and Consultancy
Act as a trusted advisor for power distribution and related electrical infrastructure. Support consultants and customers with system architecture, single line diagrams, protection concepts, resilience strategies, power quality considerations, sustainability and energy efficiency requirements. Deliver CPD presentations, technical workshops and lunch‑and‑learn sessions. Provide guidance on relevant standards, regulations and best‑practice requirements for the Irish market.
## 4\. Specification Protection
Defend Eaton specifications throughout tender and procurement processes. Minimise specification erosion during value engineering and substitution exercises. Communicate Eaton’s value proposition around safety, reliability, sustainability, lifecycle cost, digitalisation and energy resilience.
## 5\. Internal Collaboration
Work closely with project sales engineers, application engineers, marketing, product management, channel sales teams, contractors and distribution partners. Ensure seamless handover of specified projects through the sales process. Maintain accurate project, account and opportunity information within Salesforce.
