Description
Overview:
Stays informed of relevant conditions and trends about Fixed Income and specialized markets to detect changes to allow for timely planning and action of trade executions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of Fixed Income transactions by adhering to fixed income trading policies, communicating trade details to brokers, authorized personnel and internal operational staff. Manage the trading desk and less experienced traders.
- Provide Portfolio Managers and other Investment professionals with market trends and security information. Assist Portfolio Managers with portfolio construction and client presentations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years’ fixed income trading experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ fixed income trading experience
Education and Experience Preferred:
Current pursuit of MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
Minimum of 3 years’ fixed income trading experience
