Description
As the Ecommerce Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the efficiency, commercial success, and security of the payment ecosystem. You will act as a trusted right hand to the Director of Ecomm, taking ownership of day to day performance, vendor relationships, and data analysis.
Crucially, you will serve as the primary, day-to-day point of contact for internal commercial teams and business stakeholders, bridging the gap between Ecommerce Operations and the wider business. You will translate operational friction into technical solutions, collaborate with internal development houses and third-party suppliers to optimize efficiencies, manage strategic product roadmaps for the Payments SteerCo, and unlock hidden revenue within our payments and fraud data.
Location: Preferably North American Time Zone
Department: Commercial
Key Responsibilities (Not limited)
Stakeholder Management & Operational Bridge
- Primary Business Liaison: Act as the main day-to-day point of contact for commercial teams, regional managers, and business stakeholders, addressing payment-related inquiries, support needs, and localized market challenges.
- Fill the Gap: Serve as a strategic translator between the Ecommerce Operations team and commercial business units to ensure daily operational realities directly support commercial growth.
- Tech Collaboration: Partner with operational leadership to diagnose inefficiencies and coordinate directly with technology suppliers and our development house to turn operational/business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Help support and execute the product roadmaps for the various strategic pillars defined by the Payments SteerCo.
- Act as the key operational interface with technology development partners, ensuring that SteerCo deliverables are prioritized, accurately scoped, and delivered on time.
- Monitor project milestones, balance resource constraints, and provide regular progress updates to the payments Leadership Team.
- Deep-dive into transactional and player data to uncover regional commercial opportunities, identifying where new payment methods or optimized routing could capture market share.
- Analyse data within the Risk and Fraud vertical to identify opportunity-cost savings (e.g., minimizing false positives, optimizing chargeback management, and balancing friction vs. conversion).
- Review payment processor performance and cost structures by region to aggressively pursue interchange, routing, and processing fee efficiencies.
- Maintain and provide competitor insights through the management of the Product Market Fit documents.
- Build and nurture partnerships of mutual respect with 3rd-party payment vendors, partners and suppliers.
- Build partnerships and inter departmental bridges with business owners across the business verticals, being viewed as a trusted, informed and collaborative solution minded partner.
- Serve as a highly trusted operator exposed to sensitive data, financial metrics, and roadmap strategies, handling all information with strict confidentiality.
Experience
- Gaming Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years within online gaming being exposed to payments, product, or ecommerce operations.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience acting as a primary point of contact for cross functional business units, with the ability to manage expectations and communicate complex issues simply.
- Technical & Product Acumen: Experience working directly with software development teams, engineering houses, or product managers. Familiarity with agile development, APIs, and cashier routing engines is highly advantageous.
- Data-Driven Commerciality: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to look at payments, fraud, and risk data not just from a compliance perspective, but as a lever for profitability.
- Regional Landscape Knowledge: Solid understanding of global payment landscape including methods, processing regulations, and regional user behaviour.
Person Characteristics for Success
- The "Hub" Mindset: You enjoy being the go-to person, comfortably sitting between developers, risk analysts, commercial leads, and C-level executives to align conflicting priorities.
- Unwavering Integrity: You will handle highly sensitive corporate strategies and fraud data; absolute discretion is non-negotiable.
- Proactive Problem Solver: You don’t just pass messages between teams; you actively collaborate with tech partners to build solutions for the commercial teams.
- Can-Do Autonomy: A self-starter capable of navigating complex matrix organizations, driving SteerCo initiatives independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Operationally Driven: This role is focused on the ‘How’ and the ‘Execution’ in a dynamic space, as opposed the theory and strategy.
