Junior Accountant
Location: Hybrid ways of working at office in Wiesbaden working 2-3 days in the office
Contract: 12 month fixed-term contract
Salary: €50,000-55,000
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join our Group Finance Team here at Domestic & General. This role responsible for supporting the financial integrity and accuracy of the company’s accounts through a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and in technical accounting standards such as IFRS. A basic understanding of local German GAAP (HGB) and German taxation is needed to fulfil the role.
Key responsibilities include reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet items, processing vendor invoices and expense reports, supporting monthly and partly annual financial statements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls (FRCF).
Additionally, the role involves coordinating with various departments, managing the cash office, and monitoring deductibles. Strong Excel skills and effective communication in German and English are essential for success in this role. The role cover statutory tasks as well: local GAAP (HGB), German tax (VAT and IPT), regulatory / statistical tasks (German Federal Bank).
What you’ll be doing:
Support the month end close and do the accounting for Germany, Austria (and Poland). E.g. Reconciliation of bank accounts and significant balance sheet items,
Account allocation and posting of vendor invoices, travel expenses and bank statements, Processing of internal controls,
Support for monthly and annual financial statement.
Responsibility for the petty cash, FRCFs.
What you’ll bring:
Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
Good knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and practices
Basic Knowledge of German tax and local GAAP
German language fluent (e.g. local tax audit, federal bank)
English language skills at least at a good level of communication
