DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

About the Role

The Director of Information Technology will be responsible for the strategic direction, management, security, and continuous development of the organization's overall IT environment, ensuring that technology effectively supports critical business and operational processes.

This is a senior leadership role combining IT strategy, infrastructure and systems management, cybersecurity, data protection, business continuity, application support, budget management, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to identify technology needs, implement appropriate solutions, ensure the security and reliability of critical systems, and continuously improve the organization's IT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the overall Information Technology function and its teams;
• Participate with senior management in defining IT priorities, plans, policies, and programs aligned with the organization's strategic objectives;
• Develop and continuously improve the organization's IT strategy, infrastructure, systems, and technology capabilities;
• Oversee the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of information systems supporting critical organizational processes;
• Ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and security of IT systems and infrastructure;
• Ensure 24/7 support and continuity of critical IT systems, electronic communication, and information flow across the organization;
• Identify technology requirements and recommend appropriate solutions in coordination with senior management;
• Plan and manage the annual IT budget, monitor expenditures, and optimize technology resources to achieve an effective balance between cost, performance, and service quality;
• Manage relationships with external IT providers, technology partners, and vendors;
• Ensure secure and confidential storage, processing, and access to sensitive information;
• Establish appropriate access controls and measures to protect data from loss, destruction, unauthorized access, and security breaches;
• Ensure IT operations and systems comply with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements related to personal and sensitive data protection;
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with recognized international standards;
• Conduct and coordinate regular security audits and initiatives aimed at strengthening cybersecurity awareness across the organization;
• Manage Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes for critical IT systems;
• Coordinate the response to system incidents, database issues, and other technology-related disruptions;
• Oversee the evaluation, testing, implementation, and performance of critical software and electronic systems;
• Monitor application and software implementation timelines and ensure projects progress according to agreed plans;
• Establish and continuously improve IT policies, procedures, standards, and controls;
• Monitor compliance with newly implemented IT strategies and procedures;
• Lead, develop, and evaluate IT team members and contribute to the continuous development of the department's organizational structure.

Professional Profile

We are looking for a senior IT professional with:

• Proven experience in managing complex IT environments and business-critical systems;
• Strong experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, application environments, and IT operations;
• Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary IT teams;
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, information security, and data protection;
• Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and implementation;
• Experience in managing critical systems requiring high availability and operational continuity;
• Strong understanding of data access controls, backup, recovery, and information protection;
• Experience in IT budgeting, cost management, and resource optimization;
• Experience managing external IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners;
• Experience in IT project management and implementation of new systems and applications;
• Ability to translate organizational requirements into practical and sustainable technology solutions;
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance related to information systems and sensitive data;
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
