Description
The Senior IT Operations Officer serves as the Bank's senior technology officer and is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, security, and operational management of all information technology functions on an enterprise level. This position develops and executes the Bank's technology strategy to support business objectives while ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. The Senior IT Operations Officer oversees technology infrastructure end user services, cybersecurity, business continuity and disaster recovery, technology risk management, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that enable the Bank to serve its customers and communities effectively. This position ensures the Bank's technology environment remains secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with its long-term strategic objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Develops and executes technology strategy in conjunction with executive leadership.
- Leads, monitors and reports progress on projects to executive leadership while ensuring projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Identifies and recommends new technologies and services to improve efficiency, processes, and operations.
- Ensures IT and network infrastructure support the Bank’s IT operations’ needs.
- Collaborates with third parties and other technology vendors as necessary.
- Reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.
- Establishes departmental priorities and monitors operation performance.
- Recommends and develops information technology policies/procedures and standards.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives throughout IT Operations.
- Develops departmental procedures and operational standards in conjunction with executive leadership.
- Prepares, implements, executes, and monitors IT Operations budget working with Finance/Accounting as necessary.
- Serves as the primary liaison for IT internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Partners with the Information Security Officer to sustain a safe operating environment.
Leadership Responsibilities:

- Monitors full-cycle performance process to include annual performance reviews.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of Windows Server administration, Microsoft E5, Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, firewalls, Azure, endpoint security, storage systems, banking applications, and FFIEC guidance.
- Possess knowledge of or familiarity with Jack Henry core products and services, strongly preferred.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and/or Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred;
- A minimum of eight years’ IT experience at enterprise level or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- A minimum of five years’ management experience required.
- Financial institution, preferably in a community bank, at enterprise level strongly preferred.

Position Type/Hours:
- Full-time, exempt level position working Monday – Friday.
- Availability outside normal business hours for critical system outages or technology emergencies.
Travel:
Travel is primarily within the Bank’s market areas between branch/office locations during the business day with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel required.
