Marketing & Communications Director (Dual-use; Part-Time)

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Marketing & Communications Director to lead Sky Spy’s marketing and communications on a part-time basis. You will define our strategy and drive execution across content, PR, advertising, events, and partner campaigns to strengthen our visibility and support commercial growth.

This is a hands-on role with a high level of ownership. You will work directly with the CEO and closely with business development, product, and engineering teams to turn complex technology into clear, compelling communications. You will manage specialist contractors and agencies, with the opportunity to build an in-house team as the company grows.

Location — Remote (Europe).
Engagement - Part-time to full-time

Candidates should be based in Europe and available for occasional travel. The weekly commitment will be agreed based on availability and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Sky Spy’s marketing and communications strategy, including priorities, budget, and measurable objectives.
• Refine company positioning, messaging, and brand identity, ensuring consistency across external communications.
• Manage content planning and production for company social media, leadership profiles, and the website blog.
• Lead PR and media relations, building relationships with journalists and coordinating press releases, interviews, announcements, and media coverage.
• Plan Sky Spy’s presence at exhibitions and industry events, including stand design and production, suppliers, marketing materials, and event promotion.
• Work with partners on joint campaigns, announcements, events, and co-branded content.
• Brief and manage contractors and agencies producing photos, videos, graphics, merchandise, and other company assets.
• Coordinate website updates
• Work with business development and product teams to create product briefs, case studies, presentations, and other materials that support customer engagement.
• Track campaign performance, media coverage, audience growth, and qualified inbound interest, using results to improve marketing activity and spending.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing and communications, including responsibility for strategy and execution.
• Experience marketing complex technical products.
• Proven ability to develop a marketing strategy and turn it into practical plans, campaigns, and measurable results.
• Track record of creating standout campaigns that earned international attention, media coverage, and strong audience engagement.
• Hands-on experience across social media, content, PR, advertising, and events.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Established network of media contacts in technology, business, or relevant industry publications.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with fluent professional English.
• Self-directed, organized, and comfortable prioritizing competing needs in a fast-moving startup.

• Background in an early-stage or rapidly scaling technology company.
• Experience with international product launches, industry exhibitions, or joint campaigns with strategic partners.
• Professional proficiency in an additional European language.
