POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, this 18-month contract role (with opportunity to extend to permanent) provides hands-on production and coordination support to an integrated marketing and communications team serving the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch (CBABC) and Canadian Bar Association, Alberta Branch (CBA Alberta).
This is a varied, execution-focused role for someone who enjoys getting things done. Working across email, social media, websites, newsletters, campaigns and other communications channels, the coordinator helps turn approved plans, briefs and content into polished, accurate and timely communications. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to move comfortably between different types of work, priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate is a versatile marketing and communications generalist who is comfortable learning new systems, managing recurring production tasks and working across a broad range of activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing and Campaign Production
- Support the execution of marketing and campaigns across both branches, working from approved promotional plans, briefs and content.
- Build, format, test and schedule marketing emails and other digital communications.
- Complete campaign production tasks accurately and on schedule, escalating questions or issues to the project lead as needed.
Digital Channels and Content
- Schedule and publish social media content, with opportunities to contribute to digital content calendars.
- Update and publish website content using content management systems and established brand standards.
- Support the production of member, professional development, student and other newsletters.
- Perform quality assurance across digital communications, including content, links, formatting, images and audience selections.
Communications and Publication Support
- Assist with the coordination and production of digital magazines and advocacy communications.
- Proofread and format content for accuracy, consistency and alignment with brand standards.
- Write and adapt straightforward content for email, web, social media and other channels as required.
Project and Production Coordination
- Keep assigned project files, production calendars and shared resources organized and up to date.
- Work to established project schedules and production deadlines, flagging missing information or potential delays to the project lead.
- Follow established production processes, templates and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement where relevant.
- Provide flexible production support across both branches based on team priorities, deadlines and capacity.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Early-career experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing or a related field; recent graduates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Post-secondary education or training in marketing, communications or another relevant discipline.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and recurring deadlines.
- Comfortable working from established plans, briefs, templates and brand standards while exercising good judgement in day-to-day execution.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media scheduling tools.
- Familiarity with email marketing software (e.g. Higher Logic) and web content management systems (e.g. Kentico) and HTML is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or comparable workplace productivity tools.
- Ability to independently manage assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with team members and recognizing when review or escalation is required.
- Personable, professional, tactful and diplomatic; can be trusted to positively represent the CBA and our reputation in every interaction

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay Range: $53,000 to $57,000 per year
