Description

Lincoln County Health and Human Services is currently looking to hire a Certified Medical Assistant OR a Medical Assistant.

Lincoln County Health and Human Services primary care clinic, Coastal Healthcare, is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to add to their team. This person will perform a wide variety of paraprofessional medical and mental health support duties, including assisting in the identification of patient needs through screening, interviewing and observation and in implementing care or treatment plans. This role is also responsible for preparing patients for procedures and examinations and assisting in the effective delivery of health care to patients by providing support services including laboratory tests, vital signs, maintenance of patient records, obtaining and entering demographic data and billing information, scheduling appointments and generally maintaining clinic flow. This role is also responsible for working with patients in addiction treatment if assigned OBAT, and working with veterans and the VA medical center if assigned.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED
None
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
A valid, unencumbered Medical Assistant Certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program and the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications: At least one year of experience in a health care setting is preferred.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Medical terminology.
- Anatomy.
- Basic clinical procedures.
- First aid and CPR.
- Safety and sanitation.
- Provide culturally appropriate services in the health care setting.
- Document accurately and legibly in writing and using electronic medical record systems.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Conform to the HIPAA Privacy Rules and related regulations.
