Are you our new Software Developer?
The Mid-Level Software Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Umbraco-based web applications and CMS solutions. The role focuses on reliable delivery of backend and frontend features, content modelling, integrations, performance, security, and maintainability. The developer works independently on well-defined tasks, contributes to technical design and code reviews, supports junior colleagues when needed, and participates in Umbraco version upgrades, application patching, and operational improvements under guidance from
senior or lead developers.
What will you do:
Core development and delivery:
- Develop and maintain Umbraco CMS features, templates, components, APIs, integrations, and supporting backend services using C# and modern .NET.
- Build and maintain ASP.NET Core MVC solutions using controllers, view models, partial views, dependency injection, asynchronous programming, LINQ, and clean coding practices.
- Create responsive and accessible frontend implementations using Razor, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript ES6+, and, where required, modern framework-based frontend patterns.
- Write maintainable code, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to secure, scalable, and performant solutions.
Design and maintain Umbraco document types, compositions, media types, templates, partial views, content structures, and reusable content blocks.
- Work with the Umbraco API, including UmbracoHelper, IContentService, content querying, and Content Delivery API scenarios where headless or integration needs exist.
- Support search-related development using Examine and Lucene.NET indexes for performant content search and filtering features.
- Contribute to Umbraco backoffice improvements such as dashboards, property editors, and UI extensions when required, with support from senior developers for complex customizations.
- Participate in Umbraco version upgrades, compatibility checks, package/plugin updates, regression testing, and Umbraco application patching in line with security and maintenance requirements.
Collaboration and operational quality:
- Collaborate with product owners, QA, UX/UI, DevOps, security, and content stakeholders to deliver stable and user-friendly CMS solutions.
- Document implemented changes, known limitations, configuration decisions, and support-relevant information.
- Contribute to CI/CD, environment consistency, release preparation, and incident/problem resolution within theteam scope.
What we’re looking for:
- Typically, 2+ years of professional software development experience, including practical experience with C#, .NET and ASP.NET Core MVC.
- Hands-on experience with Umbraco CMS development, including content modelling, Razor templating, custom components, and CMS-driven page delivery.
- Good knowledge of SQL Server, database querying, schema awareness, and understanding of Azure SQL or SQLite for development scenarios.
