Our challenge
We are seeking a Technical Lead to provide technical direction and leadership across the design, development, and delivery of enterprise technology solutions. The successful candidate will guide engineering teams, establish technical standards, and ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex applications and platforms.
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentoring, and code-review support.
- Establish and enforce development, architecture, testing, and security standards.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and delivery managers.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support application modernization, cloud adoption, and platform enhancements.
- Guide troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production issue resolution.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, resiliency, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and engineering best practices.
Requirements:
- Extensive software development experience in enterprise environments.
- Experience leading technical delivery across multiple teams or complex initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, APIs, and integration.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience in capital markets or banking.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and containerization.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, observability, resiliency, and secure software development.
