UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. Job Summary:**
As VP1, Wholesale AFC - CMB AML/KYC, you will play a critical role in ensuring UOB Innovation Hub 2 Sdn Bhd's compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations within the Commercial Banking (CMB) sector. This position involves managing and enhancing the AFC framework, identifying and mitigating financial crime risks, and leading a team to execute robust compliance strategies.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive AML/KYC policies and procedures tailored to the CMB segment, in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
* Oversee the end-to-end KYC lifecycle for CMB clients, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
* Conduct in-depth risk assessments and identify potential financial crime risks within CMB operations, proposing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Manage and investigate suspicious transactions and activities, ensuring timely escalation and reporting to relevant authorities.
* Lead and mentor a team of AML/KYC professionals, fostering a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and professional development.
* Collaborate with business units, legal, and compliance departments to ensure seamless integration of AFC requirements into business processes.
* Stay abreast of evolving AML/KYC regulations, industry best practices, and emerging financial crime typologies, adapting policies and procedures accordingly.
* Prepare and present regular reports on AFC performance, risk exposure, and compliance status to senior management and relevant committees.
* Participate in internal and external audits and regulatory inspections, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) are highly desirable.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), with a strong focus on AML/KYC within the financial services industry, specifically commercial banking.
* Demonstrated expertise in regulatory requirements related to AML/KYC, including local and international standards.
* Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in AML/KYC systems and tools, with an understanding of data analytics for financial crime detection.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
