The Impact You'll Make
The PSI Group in Williamsport MD, a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and distributor of packaging supplies, is seeking a Safety / Quality Manager to join our team. As our Safety & Quality Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind a culture where safety is second nature and quality is never compromised. You’ll lead initiatives that protect our people, ensure compliance with industry standards, and deliver packaging solutions that exceed customer expectations. Your work will directly influence our reputation, operational excellence, and the well-being of every team member.
Core Responsbilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of plant safety programs in compliance with OSHA and industry regulations.
- Oversee quality control systems for corrugated production — from raw material inspection to final product audits.
- Conduct root cause analyses for safety incidents and quality deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Train and coach employees on safe work practices, quality standards, and process improvements in all production facilities.
- Partner with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure equipment, processes, and materials meet safety and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain certifications, documentation, and reporting for internal audits and customer requirements.
- Perform safety incident claims management - including but not limited to: file incident reports with Worker's Compensation insurance carrier, interact with insurance carrier and Risk Control Services carrier, documentation management
- Participate in National Safety workshops to develop preventative risk control practices.
- Complete customer quality requests including NAFTA, RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals compliance.
- Prepare and file annual safety reports (OSHA 300, etc)
- Travel and work at other sites is approximately 20%
- Three to five years proven experience in safety and/or quality management in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the corrugated or paperboard manufacturing industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in safety or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and MOSH regulations and industry-specific quality systems.
- Hands-on experience with quality inspection tools, statistical process control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, organization and planning skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building a zero-incident, high-quality culture.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various employee groups, external customers and vendors

- Starting pay range is $ 80,000 to $85,000 per year.
