Main purpose
As a Warehouse Operator you will manage global warehousing activities within a centrally located team. You will be responsible for end-to-end warehouse management, including — but not limited to — coordinating with warehouses and internal teams such as operators, trade finance and traders for incoming and outgoing cargo, across both physical metals and the warranting business.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with the shipping scheduler and purchase/sales operations for shipments in and out.
- Coordinate with warehouses for shipments in and out.
- Manage storage capacity.
- Manage warehousing costs.
- Coordinate with warehouses on documentation issuance, including holding certificates (HC), releases and pledges.
- Issue instructions to warehouses and send them pre-alerts of incoming cargo.
- Perform monthly stock reconciliation and ensure accurate reporting of stock positions to the commercial team.
- Manage claims from warehouses, including dispute resolution and charge-back to the appropriate stakeholders where required.
- Execute warrant cancellations.
Required qualifications
- 1-2 years of warehousing or shipping experience.
- Highly proficient across the MS Office Suite — particularly Excel, Word and Outlook — with hands-on experience using advanced Excel for data gathering and reporting.
- Fluent English, written and verbal, to communicate with global warehouses across continents.
- An analytical mind with a genuine inclination for problem-solving.
- Able to manage complexity and ambiguity while working to deadlines and under pressure.
Preferred qualifications
- Good knowledge of customs documentation and processes (preferred, not mandatory).
- Exposure to physical metals operations and/or LME warranting.
- Familiarity with a CTRM or trade/logistics system used for stock and shipment tracking.
