Fareground Food Hall – Austin, TX

Fareground Food Hall is a vibrant dining destination in the heart of downtown Austin, bringing together an exciting collection of culinary concepts, beverages, and hospitality experiences under one dynamic venue.Fareground combines exceptional food, innovative beverage programs, and genuine hospitality to create a memorable experience for locals, professionals, and visitors alike.


Fareground Food Hall is seeking an experienced and energetic Restaurant Manager  to join our Austin team. This position will play a key role in overseeing daily front-of-house operations, supporting food and beverage service, leading team members, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience throughout the food hall.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality professional who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and understands how to create a welcoming, polished, and efficient guest experience.

Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, evaluate, reward, and discipline FOH personnel as appropriate.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop front-of-house team members while creating a positive and accountable workplace culture.
  • Train employees on restaurant and food hall policies, procedures, service standards, product knowledge, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and floor coverage based on business volume, events, and anticipated guest traffic.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to improve performance and service standards.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration across the various food and beverage operations within Fareground.

Service Excellence

  • Supervise floor and guest-facing operations to ensure professional, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Maintain a strong presence throughout the property and proactively address guest needs.
  • Build genuine rapport with guests and create memorable experiences that encourage repeat visits.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally, promptly, and with sound judgment.
  • Educate FOH personnel on food, beverage, and product offerings to develop strong service knowledge.
  • Hold team members accountable to company systems, procedures, and hospitality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and service-ready environment throughout operating hours.

Operational Duties

  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures and ensure all required checklists are completed accurately.
  • Accurately report payroll and labor information.
  • Manage end-of-day closeout procedures, cash handling, and cash drops according to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate POS/MICROS information, including menu items, pricing, modifiers, and other operational details.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate employee records and files.
  • Monitor inventory, supplies, and operational needs and communicate issues to leadership.
  • Assist with coordinating daily operations between FOH, BOH, vendors, and food hall partners.
  • Support smooth service during high-volume periods, special events, weekends, and other peak business periods.
  • Ensure restaurant and food hall signage, menus, displays, and guest-facing information are accurate and aligned with the brand.

Facility & Maintenance

  • Take ownership of the cleanliness, organization, appearance, and overall condition of the restaurant and assigned food hall areas.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance, cleanliness, safety, or repair concerns.
  • Communicate facility issues promptly and coordinate with appropriate internal teams or vendors.
  • Ensure guest-facing areas consistently meet company standards.

Meetings & Collaboration

  • Attend and actively contribute to weekly manager meetings, operational meetings, cost calls, and other leadership meetings as required.
  • Maintain open and effective communication between FOH, BOH, management, vendors, and food hall partners.
  • Work collaboratively with the Fareground leadership team to identify opportunities to improve operations and the guest experience.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and professional representative of Fareground within the Austin community.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, hospitality, and mutual respect.

Community & Entrepreneurial Mindset

  • Bring your own personality, energy, and creativity to the Fareground brand and guest experience.
  • Participate in consumer-facing events, activations, and community initiatives.
  • Help generate awareness of Fareground and its culinary concepts within the Austin market.
  • Develop relationships with guests, local businesses, community organizations, and event partners.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of food, beverage, programming, and experiences offered throughout Fareground.
  • Identify opportunities to increase traffic, guest engagement, sales, and repeat visitation.
  • Assist in developing weekly and monthly promotions, features, events, and guest engagement initiatives.
  • Stay informed about Austin's dining, hospitality, entertainment, and community landscape.

Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous food and beverage or hospitality management experience required
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, food hall, hospitality venue, or similar environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of FOH operations, guest service, staffing, and restaurant systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated sales and guest-service skills.
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and high-volume event periods as required.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, solutions-oriented, and able to remain composed under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, food, beverage, and creating memorable guest experiences.
