HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Witham

Salary: £38,000 per year based on a 47-hour contract. Expected earnings of around £50,000 per year with overtime.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 47 hours per week. Occasional Saturdays available. Overnight stays available with additional payments.

Contract: Permanent 

 

About the Role

We are recruiting for a permanent HGV Class 2 Driver to join a leading glass manufacturer based in Witham. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position from day one with excellent earning potential, paid training and regular overtime.

You'll be delivering glass products to construction sites across the UK, with routes varying between 2 and 15 drops depending on the distance travelled. This role involves manual unloading, with the customer taking responsibility for the goods once they have been unloaded from the vehicle.

This role would suit experienced Class 2 Drivers, LGV Class 2 Drivers, HGV Drivers, Multi-Drop Drivers or Delivery Drivers looking for a long-term opportunity.

 

What You'll Do

• Complete deliveries of glass products to construction sites.
• Carry out between 2 and 15 deliveries per day depending on the route.
• Safely unload products from the vehicle using safe manual handling techniques.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and transport paperwork.
• Deliver excellent customer service at each delivery point.
• Follow all road transport and health and safety regulations.

 

What We're Looking For

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience in multi-drop deliveries.
• Comfortable with manual handling and unloading products.
• A professional and reliable approach with a strong focus on safety.
• Willingness to undertake Moffett training if not already qualified.
• Flexibility to complete occasional overnight stays and Saturday work when required.

 

Nice to Have

• Previous experience delivering to construction sites.
• Moffett licence or experience (full training provided if required).
• Experience within builders' merchants, construction, manufacturing or general haulage.
