Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology location. You will manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor visitor activity, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, building common areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, and security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership while documenting incidents, observations, and access-control activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
