Salary: $131,585.00 to $134,775.00 + Super + Salary Packaging

About the role

  • Coordinate the Occupational Therapy department’s Student Clinical Placement program, including student allocation, onboarding, orientation, direct supervision and education, while supporting clinical supervisors and managing student performance where required

  • Maintain a clinical caseload and provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service to inpatients, using advanced clinical reasoning across assessment, intervention, home visits, equipment prescription and professional reporting, while providing clinical guidance to junior staff

  • Maintain student placement policies, systems and records, including ClinConnect, and develop strong relationships with tertiary providers to support effective placement coordination, student projects and continuous improvement of the student experience

  • Contribute to Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary service planning, development and evaluation, including quality improvement and research activities, collection of activity and outcome data, and the ongoing development of services within relevant specialty areas

  • Coordinate and contribute to professional development for staff and students, including education and support to build confidence in student supervision

About you

  • Current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver’s License and hold a Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA)

  • Extensive post-graduate clinical experience in an acute hospital setting, with a strong understanding of Occupational Therapy practice including assessment, intervention, home visits, equipment prescription and discharge planning across a range of clinical areas

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical presentations, applying advanced clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement, with the ability to balance competing clinical and administrative priorities

  • Extensive experience supervising and supporting Occupational Therapy students and staff at all levels, with demonstrated skills in education and teaching and an understanding of adult learning principles and approaches

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, teamwork, negotiation and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to contribute to service development, quality improvement, research and professional development while building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
