Job Description

The role’s primary responsibility is the accurate and timely maintenance of regulatory registers, management responsibility maps and delivery of associated people-related regulatory processes.  As the role develops, it will also provide analytical and project support across the wider Chief Administration Office (CAO) group, including management information, data analysis, process improvement and insight to support business priorities. Core regulatory responsibilities will remain the priority.

Key accountabilities:

  • Timely and accurate maintenance of the live Registers and Management Responsibility Maps (MRM) to ensure USBE DAC compliance with relevant regulations of local and other European jurisdictions e.g., Fitness & Probity Regime; Senior Executive Accountability Regime and UK Senior Manager and Certification Regime

  • Provide guidance regarding people related regulatory (F&P, IAR, SEAR and SMCR) requirements and impact of same on operational effectiveness.

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Ensure compliance with the relevant department policies and procedures.

  • Identify gaps in people related regulatory processes and seek improvement opportunities to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations.

  • Participate in the design and development of people related regulatory policies, procedures, processes, and training programs.

  • Maintain knowledge of new and pending people related laws and regulations which directly affect the business and work with affected areas to ensure appropriate compliance.

  • Support regulatory change projects through active participation in the change program and assist business stakeholders to embed regulatory change into daily operational effectiveness.

  • Assist with periodic risk and control reviews to assess level of regulatory compliance across all USBE business lines.

  • Provide management information, analysis and reporting to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities within the regulatory governance remit.

  • As capacity and business priorities allow, provide flexible analytical and project support across the wider CAO group, including data gathering, process analysis and preparation of clear insights and recommendations.

  • Support the development of consistent reporting, governance and operational processes across CAO activities.

Skills & experience required:

  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following regulations - Fitness & Probity Regime, UK Senior Manager & Certification Regime, Individual Accountability Frame/Senior Executive Accountability Regime or ESMA/EBA Suitability Assessment Guidelines.

  • Ability to work across different subject areas, quickly understand business requirements and translate information into structured analysis.

  • Experience working with key stakeholders at all levels of a regulated business preferably in financial services sector.

  • Ability to research and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Experience producing management information, reports, presentations or decision-support materials would be advantageous.

  • Proven experience of working both independently and willingness to work in a Team environment.

  • Computer skills, intermediate level, are required, including experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Additional information:

  • The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
