Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Mobile Patrol Driver in Allentown, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, help deter incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

• CPR Certification (B205): Candidates must possess a valid CPR certification. Free training is provided by Allied Universal to ensure all employees are equipped with lifesaving skills.

• Customer Service Experience (B219): Previous experience in customer service is crucial for roles that require interaction with clients and the public.

• Lift More Than 20 lbs (B209): Candidates should be physically capable of lifting items weighing more than 20 pounds, as this may be necessary for certain job functions.

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.

• Alarm Panel Experience (B202)Candidates must possess experience in operating and managing alarm panel systems. This includes knowledge of alarm activation, deactivation, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)Candidates should be proficient in using computers or tablets for daily tasks. This includes the ability to navigate software applications, manage emails, and utilize digital communication tools effectively.

• Valid Driver's LicenseCandidates must possess a valid  driver's license that complies with the AU Driver Policy Requirements (C123). This includes:
  • A current and valid license without any restrictions that would impede the ability to perform job duties.
  • No significant traffic violations or driving offenses that could affect employment eligibility.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology and communications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, business areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and contractor activity, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.
• Communicate professionally with site contacts, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns, incidents, and/or operational needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
